Stayed here for three weeks in April. The Makis mother did her absolute best to make us feel at home right away - she often brought us home cooked pastries and Greek desserts. Starlink Internet was stable and fast, had no issues with it. You are pretty high up in the mountains so it can get chilly if you are not going in summer, when we arrived it was pretty cold inside. Water pressure is not great but manageable, it's also solar hot water, so the temperature can be hit and miss. The place has hotel-like access card for the lights and sockets, so when you leave everything turns off, which can be a bit of nuisance. Not much natural light inside, but the mains lighting inside is more than sufficient during night time. For better or worse you are middle of nowhere surrounded by mountains and sheep's, thus there is really no reception in the area, for sms and calls you need to go outside.

Logement impeccable, belle petite maison rénovée avec goût. Le jacuzzi est très agréable surtout à cette période ou une fois la nuit tombée la température tombe vite! Nous remercions les hôtes pour leurs petites attention. Ideale pour y rester quelques jours en famille! Seul petit point négatif, la route principale du village un peu passante devant le logement (ne pas hésiter à fermer le portillon à clé avec des enfants!) cependant, une fois à l'intérieur celui ci est très bien insonorisé.

Die Wohnung und die Lage waren unschlagbar gut. Auch der Check-in war super organisiert. Wir würden es jederzeit wieder buchen.

Amazing place to stay and relax. We came to the area for the hiking and wild flowers in spring. I have never seen so many different orchids in one area. The apartment was wonderfully comfortable and so relaxing to come back to. A little luxury !

This is my family’s second time staying with casa magnolia and believe me when I say you really will not find a more generous, loving, and friendly family who genuinely care about your comfort and want to show you the beautiful hospitality that Crete is known for. We were overjoyed to see them again and are very thankful that this family has chosen to share their little paradise on earth with the world. The home is spotless clean, organized, beautifully decorated and in a countryside location that is unique and breathtaking. The owners, without asking, went out of their way to buy us essential groceries and prepare delicious local food and drink for when we arrived. We are grateful for this! Bed linens are of high quality and freshly laundered professionally and were much appreciated after a long day out and about in Chania. Bathrooms are exceptionally clean and so is the rest of the house. We will never hesitate to visit again and hope to do so in future because of this family. ❤

Best host we've ever had in all our travels around the world. So friendly and communicative with lots of thoughtful touches. The apartment is quiet and the view is spectacular! Sofia really went the extra mile. I had an issue with the wifi not being strong enough for my work video conferences and Sofia went out of her way to solve it, with a few options, immediately. Our only suggestion to future guests is, if you want to use the hot tub on your first night, make sure to let her know so that it is hot upon your arrival. We loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer!

Nous avons adoré cette maison l emplacement est paradisiaque, tranquillité absolue, vue merveilleuse face à la mer ce logement a tout pour plaire. Pleins de douceurs nous attendaient dans le frigo fantastique 😍 Merci aux hôtes de la maison qui ont été remarquables. Nous avions tout l essentiel dans la maison tout était parfait 👍 le rêve absolu.

Unser Urlaub bei Lambros war voller Natur und Ruhe. Wir waren zu 5 dort und hatten viel Platz. Die Räume teilen sich auf zwei Häuser auf, die durch den wunderschönen Pool getrennt sind. Wir wurden mit frischem Obst, Wein, selbstgemachtem Öl und einem gefüllten Kühlschrank begrüßt. Außerdem stand ein warmes Essen für uns bereit. Lambros kommt alle 2-3 Tage nach Rücksprache und kümmert sich um den Pool. Besucht wurden wir von ein paar schüchternen Katzen. Die Kommunikation mit Lambros war super. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr empfehlenswert! Wir haben in Palaiokastro unseren ersten Urlaub zu dritt verbracht, und waren sehr zufrieden. Wir haben uns von Anfang an wohl gefühlt, alles nötige war vorhanden, von Babyutensilien bis hin zu einem Sonnenschirm für den Strand. Maria und Yannis sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, und haben uns herzlich empfangen und persönlich verabschiedet. Das Haus ist wunderschön, sauber und gemütlich, der Garten ist super gepflegt. Warmes Wasser muss allerdings mit einem Boiler erhitzt werden. Der Strand in Laufnähe (10min) hat uns leider nicht gefallen, da eine Autobrücke direkt darüber führt. Mit dem Auto sind schöne Strände jedoch leicht zu erreichen. Wir waren meist in Agia Pelagia. Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub und können das Haus nur empfehlen!

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit im Olive House von Stefanie und Zacharias. Umgeben von Olivenbäumen haben wir einerseits die Ruhe genossen, zudem wussten wir die fußläufige Nähe zum Ort Agia Galini zu schätzen. Die Unterkunft war sehr gepflegt, geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet und hatte alles zu bieten, was wir uns als Selbstversorger wünschen - insbesondere auch in der Küche. Wanderungen und Strandbesuche waren vom Haus weg möglich. Zur Triapetra-Wanderung sind wir auch einmal angefahren. Die Kommunikation mit den Gastgebern war von Beginn an sehr sympathisch. Der persönliche Austausch vor Ort sowie die Begegnungen mit der kleinen Hündin Lucie, die uns ab und zu freundlich begrüßen kam, haben uns willkommen und zu Hause fühlen lassen. Wir danken Stefanie und Zacharias abschließend ganz herzlich für ihre Fürsorge und Gastfreundschaft.

Gonia is a great, quiet village. Perfect for a relaxing getaway after the chaos of the more populated areas of Greece, yet still close enough to get to the other areas of Crete that we wanted to visit. The host is a super-host for a reason! She brought us fresh produce from her garden throughout our stay, including the most beautiful tomatoes that we had ever seen. The house is very quaint and the stone keeps it cooler during the very hot summer months. The outdoor space offered here is wonderful for relaxing, either downstairs in the shade or upstairs in the sun in the hammock or at the second dinner table. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Siamo stati qui tra la fine di Agosto e Settembre in 8 persone , tutti adulti. Le due case e il giardino sono incantevoli e curati , perfette per un gruppo numeroso grazie anche alla presenza di 5 bagni in tirale. Con la piscina, pulitissima, siamo tornati bambini😊le spiagge del sud sono a circa un’ora, un’ora e mezza di distanza, ma ci sono ottime alternative annche a 20/30 minuti al nord. Eleni e Dimitri sono simpatici e accoglienti. Tutto perfetto direi😊

A wonderful start to our vacation in Crete. As the photos show it is a beautiful spot: we enjoyed the amazing view, surrounded by fruit trees with fresh figs and pomegranates, and the adorable little cats that quickly found their way into our hearts. What stood out for us though were our hosts. Giorgos and his father are genuine, good people who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, with generous gifts from the garden and great tips to make the most of our stay.

Mein Freund und ich hatten einen wunderschönen einwöchigen Aufenthalt in Antonios Haus! Wir haben wirklich jede Minute genossen - konnten die Aussicht von der Terrasse aus genießen, unglaublich schöne Wanderungen vom Haus aus unternehmen und in 15min runter zum Strand fahren 🙌🏻 Die Küche bietet alles, was man zum kochen braucht und selbst yogamatten und Strand Equipment steht den Gästen zur Verfügung! Wir waren begeistert! Wenn man etwas Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit sucht, ist diese Unterkunft das Paradies! Es war für uns das authentisch griechische Kreta - weit weg vom Massentourismus. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder 😍

Our stay at Andreas’ beautifully restored ancient house in Aptera was nothing short of magical. Every corner of the home has been carefully restored, maintaining its authentic charm. Andreas was an exceptional host! From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome, offering helpful tips about the local area and ensuring we had everything we needed - even some food in the refrigerator! The location in Aptera is ideal for anyone looking to explore Crete’s natural beauty and ancient sites. We loved the peaceful surroundings, with easy access to stunning views, historical landmarks, and nearby beaches. In addition, there are three taverns in Aptera with great food and hospitality.

We absolutely loved the house and our holiday here. The location is really beautiful, it’s the last house at the end of the village and therefore surrounded by nature. There are some planes that fly across (as other reviews stated as well), but that didn’t bother us at all. The house itself is super clean and has everything you need. There is plenty of space in the kitchen. Its decoration is modern (in a “clean” way, which we really liked) and has a charming vibe, with light and wooden elements. We especially enjoyed the outside part. There is a pool with plenty of chairs to relax and to enjoy the sun. The location is a bit secluded so it’s helpful to have a car to get around (which you can park right outside the house), eventho you can also walk into the next village (which is about 20-30 minutes by foot). A big thank you goes out to Dimitris. He was super helpful and there for us anytime. It was super easy to contact him and he gave us all the information we needed. Thank you!

Wir haben zwei herrliche Wochen in dem schönen Haus von Stella in Macheri verbracht, das wir unbedingt weiter empfehlen. Mit den von ihr an uns gesendeten Koordinaten haben wir das Haus problemlos mit dem Auto von Chania erreicht. Das Haus befindet sich in Alleinlage etwa 7km entfernt von Kalives, einem sehr netten Ort mit schönem Strand , Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants, in den Bergen. Von der Terrasse hat man einen wundervollen Blick in die Umgebung. Wir haben die schöne ruhige Atmosphäre sehr genossen. Die Kochzeile hat alles, was man zum Zubereiten von kleinen Gerichten benötigt. Eine Waschmachine ist vorhanden, und die Klimaanlage funktionierte problemlos. Stella haben wir nicht persönlich kennengelernt, aber die schriftliche Kommunikation übers Handy war perfekt und fühlte sich sehr herzlich an. Sie hat sehr schnell auf Fragen geantwort. Die Umgebung ist absolut sehenswert, nette Dörfer mit gemütlichen Tavernen und ganz freundlichen Einwohnern. Wir kommen wieder.

Das zweigeschossige Haus ist wunderschön und authentisch renoviert, blitzsauber und es gibt keinen unnötigen Krimskrams. Es gibt eine großartige Terrasse im Obergeschoss (wo das Schlafzimmer und Bad sind) mit Sonnenschirm und großen Steintisch. Sie ist so groß, dass auch 2 oder 3 Personen Yoga machen könnten. Es herrscht eine herrliche Ruhe und ist somit maximal erholsam. Durch Fensterläden ist das Schlafzimmer gut abzudunkeln, sodass ein erholsamer Schlaf möglich ist. In der Küche ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Stella und ihr Mann sind sehr nett es gab sogar einen liebevoll hergerichteten Obstkorb und sogar selbst gebackenen Kuchen. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Wir haben den Aufenthalt absolut genossen. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig, außer den Schafen und den Hunden hört man kaum etwas. Die Schafe waren auf jeden Fall ein kleines Highlight. Die Unterkunft ist schön, sauber und gut ausgestattet. In ca 20 Min ist man fußläufig am Meer und der große Strand von Triopetra ist großartig. Die Tavernen in der Umgebung öffnen leider erst Mitte April, aber das war für uns kein Problem. Man benötigt auf jeden Fall ein Auto, um zur Unterkunft zu gelangen, aber die Fahrt bietet malerische Blicke. Die Nachbarn waren absolut freundlich und haben uns sogar zu einem Abend mit gutem Essen und Trinken, traditioneller Musik und traditionellem Tanz eingeladen. Wir haben die Menschen mit ihrer herzlichen, gastfreundlichen Art direkt ins Herz geschlossen. Wir würden den Aufenthalt jedem empfehlen, der nach Ruhe sucht und in das Leben vor Ort eintauchen will. Panagiotis ist auch ein Herzensmensch. Er wollte uns extra noch kennenlernen und brachte uns Gebäck vorbei.

Wir dürften eine Woche in AnnaMarias Unterkunft verbringen. Alles wie beschrieben und schön eingerichtet. Betten sind bequem. Es gab sogar ein Reisebett für Kinder und Kindergeschirr. Wichtig: kein Hochstuhl vorhanden aber das wussten wir vorher und haben unsere eigene Sitzerhöhung mitgebracht. Der Spielplatz gegenüber ist perfekt und der kleine Garten super zum spielen. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit!

My family all had an amazing stay at Maria's place. The location is brilliant. Right on the beach and a short stroll to a number of lovely tavernas. We didn't need to leave the bay so we didn't need a car. We hired one for a day to visit a lake when the coast felt a bit too windy. The house is incredibly well kitted out. So many toys and outdoor play things for the kids. The kitchen has anything you could need - Maria is such a generous and consideerate host. she supplied so many things we might need having a baby in the group. She even cooked us a delicious dinner for our first night - leaving it in the oven for when everyone had arrived. Overall a great stay. My kids were crying about leaving. I nearly did too...!

We had a great stay at Sara’s place. The apartment is on the 2nd fl (one flight up as in the picture). We stayed comfortably in their olive groves. We like the big balcony and the bathroom is also big. Snack, Olive oil and lemon were offered, appreciated, thank to them. Sara gave us detailed information where to go for some sightseeing. Sara and her husband are very friendly. We could easily go to the city and the beach from here. Highly recommended.
