Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Shred the slopes, then immerse & indulge in the spa pool under the stars. Accommodates 4 but configures perfectly for a small family or couples retreat & bring the furry friends too!

Richcrest Farm Stay-Self contained Cabin

Richcrest Cabin is built for two people. Off the grid and eco-friendly. Set beside a small lake and totally private. Enjoy the company of New Zealand's beautiful birds, Tui, Fantail and an abundance of Kereru. The cabin provides a stunning peaceful private retreat to escape from the trappings of modern life. Double glazed, fully insulated, and an infinity gas heater for warmth. Situated on a traditional New Zealand sheep and beef hill country farm. Marked farm walks for you to enjoy.

It has double glazing, a mini fireplace, toilet with vanity in add-on bathroom off the deck, large porch area for dining and 2 outdoor baths for soaking in the views. The Historic Shearers Quarters are located 11 kms from SH1, on a working farm that has remained in the family for four generations. We are based in the beautiful Kawhatau Valley. A unique accommodation in the heart of the Rangitikei. Light the old shacklock stove, sit back and enjoy peace and quiet- all while only 10 mins from the superb Dukes Roadhouse Cafe. Please note this is a Historic Shearer's Quarters. If you have mobility issues please be aware there are no ramps and only steps.

Located on State Highway 1... 2 hours south of Taupo, 2 hours north of Wellington & 1 hour to Ohakune. Enjoy a wine on the deck looking out at the operating sheep and beef farm. Our restored shearers quarters are modern, warm, bright and comfortable. Double glazed, fireplace, insulated, infinity gas and beautifully decorated. We have free Wifi. ChromeCast on the TV. Quaint cottage. Sleeps up to 6. 800m away from the iconic Vinegar Hill. Just 3 minutes off SH1, on a quiet road, perfect rural escape. Let us help make going away easy, just bring your clothes, toiletries and food, and you are good to go! PLEASE NOTE - we have just taken over managing Flat Hills Cafe And Tourist Park, which is 10 minutes from the cottage. We have relocated most of our farm animals there. You're welcome to come and visit us and meet the animals there for free.

The Red Barn provides a rural retreat, a quick 7-minute drive to vibrant Whanganui city. Local café and brewery down the road and close to the Windermere Berry Farm. A self-contained cottage set privately in the grounds of our property offering options for whatever break away you are looking for. Sit and relax outside in the sun, or stoke up the fire and chill out, or grab your bike and explore the country roads. Dedicated EV charger, type 2. Secure storage for bikes.

Historic Bank in Rural Village - a great escape.

Cosy fire, Vault bathroom. Multi-night discounts. Continental breakfast. Cafe and Pub within a two minute walk. River and bush walks a plenty. A fabulous diversion encompassing spectacular views. You will be staying in the character filled, old Kimbolton BNZ Bank (complete with teller box). This is a great Digital Nomad option - with ski fields within 2.5 hours. I live in the "Managers Quarters" which are through a door from the bank (the walls are very thick).
