Delightfully Cozy Historic Post Office/Guesthouse

Estelene was established in 1910 and served as a community center and post office for rural people of southwest Baca County until 1927. Estelene was named after Estelene Collins, the lady who operated the post office on the Collins Ranch where it was located. Estelene was also a teacher at the local schoolhouse for a time. The story goes that after she got older and unable to climb the hill to the original post office, she asked the community to build her a post office closer to the house.

The School House is located across the street from the La Junta Intermediate School. On-street parking is available in front of the School House with additional parking available off the alley.

When reserving the guesthouse, you are paying for the number of guests staying. Base rate increases with number of guests coming. No one else has access to the property.
