Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, it's Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". The cottage is well situated for exploring the area, being just 5 minutes drive from Rosslyn chapel, (which you can also walk to from the cottage by following the path through the glen.)The Pentland hills are only 10 minutes drive, and it takes less than 30 minutes to get to edinburgh city centre. It is a great place to come home to after a day of hillwalking ,working or sight seeing.
