Mountain Stone Cottage — Near City, Worlds Away

Tucked away in Fern Tree, just minutes from Hobart, this stone cottage isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a place to switch off. No noise. No rush. Just crisp mountain air, towering trees, and a home that feels like it’s been waiting for you. Built from stone and full of character, every detail has been designed to feel calm, grounded, and quietly beautiful — the kind of space where you instantly breathe a little deeper. This is Tasmania at its best — raw, peaceful, and completely unbothered.

We want to offer visitors to Hobart a unique & luxurious accommodation experience, which connects modern design with its rugged, bush environment. Located in West Hobart, we are a short 8 minute drive to the Salamanca water front. Our 2 story house is nestled in a private bushy street, with amazing views of the Derwent River, South Hobart, Sandy Bay & beyond. The home is spacious and private, yet surrounded by (harmless) local wildlife. You will see many wallabies grazing on the property.

Studio

Enjoy the opportunity to stay in one of Derwent Valleys Grand Designs. This spacious studio space expanded over the bottom floor of the house, offers a queen size double bed, ensuite, full kitchen, dining table and living area. National Park is located in the upper Derwent Valley. The accomodation is 5min drive to Mt Field National Park. Maydena bike park just a 15min drive up the road. There is an abundance of beautiful walks with a selection of river valleys, waterfalls and giant trees.

Entire Home - Maydena \ Mt Field \ Tyenna

You'll have my self-contained house in Fitzgerald to yourselves. It is modern and family-friendly. It's 5 minutes from the Tyenna river and a magic spot for fishing and watching Platypus. Less than 5 minutes from the Maydena Mountain Bike Park. Also MT Field and National Park are a 10 minute drive. Stay in and prepare meals or have dinner at the Mountain Bike Park (check their socials for opening times). As well, the visitors center at MT Field has a stylish and comprehensive cafe.

Our home is a lovingly renovated weatherboard property, retaining the 1950's features characteristic of Maydena, but with all the modern conveniences you'd expect to make your stay amazing. Enjoy sun filled bedrooms and living areas with views of our beautiful private garden and the mountains beyond from every window. We're located a two minute walk from Maydena Bike Park, at the gateway to adventure in the Tasmanian Wilderness. We'd love to welcome you to our place!

Camp Rising ~ Cygnet, Tasmania

Our cosy and humble cabin - an old pickers hut from the farm's previous life as an apple orchard - is located in the stunning Huon Valley, with views across the stunning Huon River to the snow capped mountains of the Southwest. You would be hard pressed to find a more peaceful outlook for your morning coffee or afternoon wine as you take in the open skies and the local wildlife. Just a few minutes from the charming village of Cygnet and its many great cafes and shops.

Getaway from the everyday and embrace relaxation. Nestled high on a hill overlooking glorious sunrises/sunsets, rolling green hills and orchards, blue skies and towering green gum trees. Friendly wildlife, twinkling stars and a custom made hot tub are yours when you stay here. Fall asleep on luxurious linen. Feel the quiet stillness of the surrounding Tasmanian bush. Post House Cottage - 10 Minutes to Mount Field

Accommodation located within 10 minutes drive to the spectacular MOUNT FIELD NATIONAL PARK. Cottage was built in the early 1900's in the picturesque Derwent Valley. The cottage is set on 13 acres and is private with your own fully fenced yard. We give you your privacy but if you need us, we are close by to assist. The cottage makes a welcoming break between Hobart and Strahan. Cottage caters to children over 12 years of age only.

Florentine Cottage

Florentine Cottage is nestled in the heart of the small village of Maydena. A 1.5 hour drive from Hobart. The cottage is located less than 200m from the Maydena Bike Park base and 15min from Mount Field National Park. The cottage is cosy & comfortable fitted out with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. If you share a love for the outdoors, hiking and mountain biking then Florentine Cottage is the place for you!
