Our home is situated in a central neighbourhood in the beautiful town of Harrismith, boasting with views of our scenic Platberg over the many treetops. We have two selfcatering units on our property, Protea Plekkie/Place (this listing, 4 guests max) and Protea Hoekie/Corner (seperate listing, 2 guests). Ideal for overnight stop when traveling the N3 or N5, or for a comfortable longer stay when visiting our area for business or leisure. Eastern Freestate charm is found in abundance around here!

A dining/work space is added for extra comfort before stepping out onto your private covered patio with braai. Breathtaking mountain views set the scene for peaceful mornings, golden sunsets, and truly tranquil moments together.

Jade and cerise from an exotic back drop for this elegant and romantic bedroom. Bohemian influences are found in the steel fittings and sumptuous day bed, which provides a perfect reading nook. The wondrous double size bed is fitted with the finest quality, crispy white cotton linen, cosy down duvet, electric blankets, embroidered velvet throw and bright cushions. THERE IS A BOREHOLE ON THE PROPERTY. The spacious en-suite bathroom has a shower and bath, fluffy white towels and amenities.

This comfortable yet stylish open plan studio is situated in the suburb of Larola which has 24hour security patrol. The studio is on the same property as the main house and shares a driveway with the main house. The studio has beautiful mountain views from the doube glass sliding doors. The studio is 900m from the nearest restaurants and shops and approximately 1.5km from the central village square. Although the studio does have wifi, signal may be erratic. Netflix only, no DSTV

Clarens Villa Apartment

This unique place has a style all its own. One bedroom en-suite apartment joined to a main house with self catering facilities. The living area is heated by a wood burning fire place and the bedroom en-suite has an air conditioner. Braai facilities on site as well as a Smart TV with DSTV and WiFi. Two to three kms from the centre of town, on a mountain side. It is the bottom level of a three storey house but completely private and not affected by loadshedding.

Elm Tree Garden Cottage

Rose Garden Manor House B+B Sitting in the shade of a 150 year old Elm tree with a view of Platberg Mountain and sleeping in one of Harrismith’s historical landmarks is a treat. Harrismith is the gem of the Free State, the gateway to the Drakensberg. The Rose Garden manor house was built in 1895 and is owned and run by David and Gill Weaver who have maintained the tradition of a classic B+B so you get to experience life with a South African family.

Explorers Rest - Guest Suite

Private entrance to thatched room with en-suite, independent from our family home. Ample storage and a kitchenette for longer stays. Close to Golden Gate, Drakensburg, Mount Aux Sources (start of the famous Sentinel/Tugela Falls hike), and Clarens. When you stay with us we can also arrange your transfers from Harrismith to us and to the mountain hotel for the hike and back if you are traveling without a vehicle.

Previous owner of Grace Upon Grace Guest Suites. Come enjoy peace and quiet, at the foot of the Rooi Berge (red mountains). Private spacious one bedroom cottage, large sitting area with huge fire place for those cold winter days and kitchen. Lovely patio outside leading from the bedroom and sitting room. Braai under the stars or Weber on the patio for those rainy days. Safe also to bring your well-behaved pets.

Ikhaya Studio apartment (sleeps 2 only)

Cute, cosy and comfortable accommodation. Fully equipped small space just for two. Ikhaya on the R616 offers a fantastic base to explore the Drakensberg area and its many activities. (Approx an hours drive away from the Northern and Central Bergs) Come and experience some Traditional South African farmhouse Hospitality. Welcome "pack" of coffee, tea & sugar available in the kitchenette.

Amani Guest house

This flat has all you will need. Comprising of a bedroom with a double bed, a lounge, bathroom with toilet, basin and shower. Small kitchenette with sink, 2 plate gas stove, fridge and all crockery and cutlery. An outdoor patio with seating allows you to enjoy the garden.
