Or just sit and relax around a campfire! The cabin is fully furnished with all bedding, towels, dish cloths etc. and a fully equipped kitchen and gas grill. There are outdoor and indoor games. This house location is the best spot for outdoor enthusiasts. A unique house that has a lot of room for guests in and outside. It is near the snowmobile trails and ORV trails. Near many lakes,rivers and Rifle River Recreation Area. Within miles of state land hunting and mushroom picking. There is a large yard to accommodate your trucks and trailers to park and ride from the yard. It has been recently renovated but still has some original history. Located just minutes from Rose City as well!

Our subdivision is ideally situated among thousands of acres of public land near the beautiful Au Sable River. The neighborhood is quiet, peaceful, and full of nature. Come and enjoy all this beautiful area has to offer, including hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, trail riding, kayaking, tubing, canoeing, etc. A boat launch for the Au Sable River, an ORV trailhead and DJs Scenic Bar are within a mile of the cabin (in McKinley). Hiking and skiing trails are 10-15 minutes from the cabin.

We offer 2 kayaks to use (must transport) cornhole boards & bags, trail riding your UTV/ORV, hiking, rafting at Jordan Valley Outfitter, snowmobiling. & many fine dining restaurants, several ski resorts and short day trips! Additionally, a 90 jet hottub for ultimate relaxation!

Grandma's Getaway! Plenty of room for your trailer

Come and enjoy the peace and beauty of Northern Michigan at Grandma's Getaway! We have lovingly restored the interior of this home and it reminds me of being at Grandma's house. We have preserved many of the original elements and created a welcoming space around them. Enjoy Mio Dam pond, the AuSable River and walking trails during the day. In the evening relax in the cozy living room and enjoy a movie or play one of our many board games. Wake up to a beautiful view of the Mio Airport.

Our cabin in the woods is a quiet refuge, not a party place. Built with many unique features: log cabin room with vaulted ceiling, log walls in kitchenette/upstairs small dinette seating area and log wall in sunroom. Carriage style Barn doors, from grandparents old chicken coop. The metal stair railing designed & laser cut with pine trees. Downstairs walkout basement has concrete log beams & posts, as well as some concrete tree branches. Trails are for quiet travel only, no motors.

As our family business grows, an additional guest lodge may be added nearby in the future, allowing us to welcome more visitors while maintaining the property’s relaxing Up North feel.
