Cozy apartment & sauna in the center of Saariselkä

Welcome to my holiday home in the heart of Saariselkä – only a few minutes' walk away of Urho Kekkonen National Park trailheads. I renovated and furnished my home completely in 2023 with all modern amenities while preserving the traditional stone-built fireplace and Finnish sauna. With three beds upstairs and a large sofa bed downstairs, the accommodation is comfortable for various types of groups. The remote working space, fully equipped kitchen and laundry also make it ideal for a longer stay.

Tällaiseen majapaikkaan ei Airbnb:ssä usein törmää. Yli 130-vuotias hirsimökki Suvannon kulttuuriperintömaisemassa vie asukkaansa aikamatkalle 1800-luvun peräpohjalaiskylään. Kohde sopii parhaiten Lapin luonnon, historian ja hiljaisuuden ystävälle, joka ei pelkää talvella pimeää eikä kesällä sääskiä. Please note: there is no public transportation to the village, no toilet in the main building, nor a shower. There is a separate sauna building outside and a traditional outhouse behind the sauna.

The property has amenities of normal home (running water, sauna, etc.), a cozy fireplace that creates an atmosphere, and network connection that works at 200/200 speed. There is no light pollution, your own peace and quiet is guaranteed and in suitable weather conditions you can admire the auroras directly from the accommodation's yard. Koe Lapin luonnon rauha ja yötön yö ainutlaatuisessa lasiseinäisessä elämyslaavussa erämaajärven rannalla. Majoitus pedattuna 3:lle, omissa makuupusseissa yöpyville jopa 5 makuupaikkaa. Minikeittiössä keittolevy, mikro, jääkaappi, vedenkeitin, leivänpaahdin ja astiat (lasit, mukit, lautaset, kahvipressot ruokailuvälineet jne.). Vieressä olevalla rantasaunalla suihkut. Kompostoiva puucee. Sauna on puulämmitteinen. Opastamme tarvittaessa saunan lämmityksessä. Käytössä kesällä ja alkusyksystä.

Varustevuokraamo ja Tunturikeskus Kiilopää kävelyetäisyydellä. Alle 20min autolla Saariselän laskettelurinteisiin, ja muihin palveluihin, 10min kävelymatka Urho Kekkosen Kansallispuistoon.

Arctic Light Hut

It is easy to relax in this unique and peaceful holiday destination. Wooden-framed, partially glass-roofed northern lights hut, built in 2019. Perfect for observing the northern lights and the starry sky indoors in winter. Glass roof on the north side. In summer, the hut is illuminated by the summer night sun. The hut has two beds under a glass roof, a kitchen area, a washroom/toilet and a wind closet. The glass roof has heating, which keeps it bright despite the weather.

Vuonna 2024 alkuvuodesta valmistunut viihtyisä, hyvin varusteltu ja moderni mökki Laanilassa noin 3 km päässä Saariselän keskustasta. Mökki sijaitsee lähellä hiihto-, pyöräily- ja ulkoilureittejä. Mökillä on yksi makuuhuone sekä tilava parvi. Mökillä majoittuu mukavasti 5 henkeä. Avarasta tupakeittiöstä on kaunis metsänäkymä. Saunaosasto on ylellinen ja moderni. Mökin pihassa on ilmainen parkkialue sekä lämpötolppa. Ulkoiluvälineille on pieni varasto.

Varustevuokraamo ja a´la carte ravintola löytyy kävelyetäisyyden päästä. Saariselän laskettelurinteet ja muut palvelut löytyvät 20 minuutin ajomatkan päästä. Huvila soveltuu pariskunnalle, perheelle tai ystäväporukalle.
