Somar Surf lodge was a great place to relax. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice as well. They don’t provide drinking water so you have to buy it from them. The food was excellent and we had to rely on their kitchen because there is no other services anywhere close by. So it’s a great place to go and enjoy just being there. It’s right in front of the ocean. The room had great big screen windows so you could feel the breeze of the ocean. It also had air conditioning if there’s no breeze. The room we stayed in was fine, but it was different from what was pictured in AirBNB, which had an open air bathroom while the one we stayed in was enclosed by a roof and that was fine.. The staff is extremely friendly and the owner as well. And the swimming pool was a great option.

I really wish I could rate Darren’s place with more stars than 5, this place is the best in las peñitas, it’s beautiful and the staff is very friendly from start to end of your stay. Plus, jake’s such a wonderful company too!

Wunderschöne Anlage und sehr schöne Zimmer. Eine definitiv zu empfehlende Unterkunft, um zu entspannen und zu genießen. Der Pool ist ebenfalls sehr schön. Catalina hat auch hervorragendes Essen, welches ein bisschen teurer ist als außerhalb, aber es lohnt sich sehr. Kartenzahlung möglich. Würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

We had a great stay here! The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. There’s a/c which is a must in León, a work desk and tv. There is an also an outdoor kitchen with everything you need to cook any meals. The hosts were very responsive and helpful! They don’t speak any English so we used google translate with no issues and they always smiled and treated us kindly. My one negative point is the hosts must live there, because they are around quite often which left for little privacy outside of the room. But we understand they need to keep the grounds tidy and use the kitchen as well. We still had a great stay regardless.

Mano a Mano was a nice place to spend some time. It's in a nice spot on the beach, clean, very good food, good security, friendly staff, quiet at night. There are plenty of things to do in the area, and other bars and restaraunts near by.

El Hostal es muy lindo adentro, está limpio, pudimos dejar las malestas antes y después de check-in/check-out. Las actividades que proponen son muy interesantes y está en el centro de la ciudad cerca de lugares turísticos y restaurantes.

100 % recomendado y un agradecimiento especial por la ayuda brindada para el trámite de entrada al pais, y también para su recepcionista Darnell quien fue muy amable, abierto a colaborar dando buena guia, recomendaciones y su ayuda siempre. Buena ubicación, buen ambiente y piscina para refrescarse :)

We loooved it here! Was beautiful and clean and had everything we needed. It‘s a very calm place and not much going on at the accommodation which was good for us as we enjoyed recovering from the day trips here. The staff was so kind and helpful. It takes 15-20mins to walk to the city center but we always felt safe walking even in the dark so it wasnt a problem.

Mano a Mano was exceptional accommodation! the other people at the hostel were amazing!, food was exceptional, sunset views beyond description! had the time of my life and will go back for sure!!!

Great hostel, super clean and nice rooms. Appreciated the air conditioning and the plunge pool helped keep cool. Breakfasts were good as were kitchen facilities. Security taken seriously and there is a nice vibe as it's a smaller hostel and easy to get to know other guests. Nice places to lounge around and staff were helpful

Wir waren mit unseren 2 Kindern in Leon und das Hostel ist eines der besten für uns gewesen - so gut, dass wir nochmal für ein paar Tage dorthin zurückgekehrt sind. Die Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet, das kostenlose, köstliche Frühstück ein tolles Plus und der kleine Pool für Kinder perfekt. Alles ist blitzblank sauber und die Gemeinschaftsräume sehr geräumig. Der Billardtisch, die vielen Hängematten und das große Bücherregal sowie die vielen Spiele waren toll. Wir können es auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

This is a very special place. Salinas Grandes is more tranquil & peaceful than other beaches in Nicaragua, and Somar Surf Lodge was a fantastic place to stay. The property is very pretty and the people are wonderful. I loved the casita - the bed is very comfortable! Thank-you so much for your wonderful hospitality!

Stylish Beachfront Home

Our group of 12 (3 children) and adults really enjoyed our time at Jake’s! We spent the early morning in the center of Leon and then headed that way closer to check - in. Place was easy to find (if you are not from Nicaragua) we recommend you use location app Waze because Jakes place is marked there for easy find. The place is very clean and rooms offer all comforts- each have their own bathrooms and AC. The poo was perfect for the children and the place offers plenty outdoor showers to wash off the sand. There is a kitchenette attached to a bedroom (if you are renting the whole space) and a full kitchen for your use. They offer recommendations for restaurants but Ana, one of their staff, who we absolutely adored and was so nice and on it, ended up cooking for us. Breakfast was delicious and we wish we could have stayed for more than one night, but due to our schedule we were not able to. Access to water is phenomenal and almost flat with no rocks

Beautiful property and wonderful host. Catalina and team were so welcoming right from the beginning. We arrived early and she welcomed us to the property to relax while our room was being finished. The property is an oasis. It has a select number of rooms and is private to guests which makes it very relaxing. The team is on the premise from open to close for anything to need. Catalina also gives each guest information detailing all the surrounding attractions and restaurants however there is no need to leave if you wish to just stay and relax for the day.

my wife and i stayed at Jake's for 2 nights. we had a really nice time :) the hotel grounds were very nice, room was clean, and the staff was exceptional! Darren was a great host - friendly, responsible, and very professional. thanks for hosting us!

Las Peñitas, a little slice of heaven, was the perfect escape after a hectic week of work. Darren’s place exceeded my expectations, delivering exactly what I had hoped for. Unser Aufenthalt in Catalinas Unterkunft war sehr angenehm. Sie und ihr Mann betreiben das Airbnb mit viel Engagement und haben uns freundlich empfangen. Die Kommunikation war unkompliziert, und sie haben uns hilfreiche Tipps für die Umgebung gegeben. Die Unterkunft selbst ist gut ausgestattet und sauber. Besonders die ruhige Lage hat uns gefallen – ideal, um nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag zu entspannen. Alles war so, wie beschrieben, und wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft! Wir können die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. & übrigens, die Paella ist ein absoluter Muss! Eine der besten, die wir jemals gegessen haben.
