A gorgeous converted barn in the Charente

A beautiful five bedroom converted barn in Sud-Charente in France with a separate one bedroom cottage and swimming pool. With five bathrooms, two kitchens, underfloor heating & full wheelchair access throughout the property. The property has an enormous central living room with sofas around the fireplace, leading onto a covered terrace for dining and out onto a stepped garden down to the pool. Cosy for couples and ideal for families, the property has been designed for elegance and accessibility.

In a beautiful setting with the most amazing 360o views of lovely rolling French countryside. In the summer the fields around the house are normally planted with sunflowers. Close to the lovely village of Saint Severin and Aubeterre-sur-Dronne categorised as one of the most beautiful villages in France just 6km away with lots of shops and restaurants, weekly market, central square asa well as river canoeing, paddle boarding, golfing, cycling hiking. Hidden away at the end of a quiet country lane in southern Charente, it is situated along the lower southern boundary of Les Chauvins, with its own entrance and private courtyards to front and back. Cabane bâtie essentiellement avec des matériaux de récupération sur le petit îlot de notre étang. Aménagement intérieur confortable, adapté aussi bien pour des séjours courts que pour des séjours longs. Petit déjeuner compris et servi le matin entre 9h00 et 10h00. Lieu idéal pour se ressourcer, travailler sur un projet, jouer à des jeux de société (2 sur place), profiter d’une personne que l’on aime, se balader dans la nature (parc, forêt, vignoble) ou sur l’eau (barque), faire un barbecue…

Recently renovated, retaining its traditional rustic charm - the perfect place to relax and unwind. It has its own entrance, kitchen, dining and living room space with original stone Charantais fireplace and a bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The large windows take advantage of the stunning countryside views and spectacular sunrises. If you are a fan of wildlife you will not be disappointed with regular visitors of deer, red squirrels, migrating cranes and a favourite of ours, the hoopoe.

Large glass doors offer stunning views from a spacious sitting room and well-equipped kitchen area. Stairs lead to an open mezzanine bedroom with a king-size bed and plenty of clothes storage. The cottage also has air-conditioning, fast Wi-Fi, electric shutters and all towels and bedlinen are provided.
