This snug, grass-roofed eco-cabin offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy a warm Irish welcome, mountain walks on the Beara Way or snorkelling through nearby reefs. Sample local cheeses, lamb, fish and seafood or stoke up the wood-burning stove, have a glass of wine and and savour the peace and tranquillity! Word of warning: we are VERY remote, (1km off the road down a rough track). With almost no public transport, own transport (eg car) is highly recommended - see Getting Around!

The Boathouse - Seclusion by the sea

A perfect base to explore West Cork Surrounded by wild coast, ancient land and protected wetlands. Wild swim at the beautiful beach only a 150m from your doorstep. Beautifully converted using natural building materials, the space is light, peaceful and open, heated with a cosy wood burner. The interior is handmade, restored or salvaged by us. We provide Sourdough bread, homemade jam, a homemade tipple & a few staples on arrival. A rural retreat right in the heart of vibrant West Cork.

Ilen River Cottage

Ilen Cottage is a peaceful hide away, for two, on the edge of the Ilen Estuary. With access to the water sailing, kayaking, swimming good, observe sea birds, seals and otters. Walking and exploring islands are also popular activities here. The cottage is 15mins from Skibbereen and Ballydehob and a perfect base for exploring beautiful West Cork. This is self catering accommodation so best to pick up your provisions in Skibbereen and experience the many restaurants in Ballydehob and around.

Free street parking. Please note: due to the elevation there is a steep walk up the lane and a further 33 steps. Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. We are situated on the Beara Peninsula, just up the road from Helen's Bar in Kilmackilogue. Our Shepherds Hut called The Bothy, overlooks the sea, and is three minutes walk to the beach. Enjoy nature at its best with views of Kenmare Bay and its surrounding mountains. It is a hikers paradise, lying just off 'The Beara Way' . Cyclists will also be in their element with The Healy Pass a few kilometres away. Kenmare is half an hour away with wonderful shops and restaurants.

Easy access to the stunning 'Fuschia Walk' and 'Lusitania Trail' and is perfect for walking enthusiasts. Clonakility town is a 20 minute drive away and is bursting with restaurants and pubs.
