Welcome to Akane-bi Takayama—a snug, retro-modern Japanese home with authentic Showa-era character, carefully renovated to blend traditional charm with modern comfort. Gujo Hachiman is known as the “City of Water”, and owner & architect Yuri Fujisawa has lovingly restored this charming residence to embody the spirit of water. Located below the town’s medieval castle, this neighborhood was reserved for high-ranking samurai. While the historical streetscape is well-preserved, it remains an authentic neighborhood inhabited by friendly locals.

百 HAKU <100-year-old Quaint Japanese Style Villa>

HAKU is a Japanese Style Villa. You can enjoy your private time as in your home. “HAKU“ is one of the readings of the character “百” which means “hundred”. Medieval Haiku poet, Basho Matsuo likened eternal passage of time to "百代の過客", a permanent traveller. In his time, a hundred years was expressed as eternal. HAKU was originally built as a farmer’s shed about a hundred years ago. It was recently relocated and renovated for another hundred years. HAKU will welcome you as traveling companions.
