Newer Cottage, 4 Outdoor Areas, Bon Echo Park
Lawrence and his wife bought us fresh cinnamon buns on Saturday morning as a treat! Was a great surprise! Sorry we didn’t get to enjoy his famous fries! One of the funniest individuals my three brothers and I have had the pleasure of conversing with! He s a comedian at heart and offers a great slice of heaven to enjoy on a beautiful property and accommodations! Lots of cool places to hang out and relax on the property! We will be making a return visit for sure!

Briar Ridge Camping Cabin
Staying at Briar Ridge Cabin at Daryl and Karen’s is magical. The beautiful property can be thoroughly enjoyed by walking along the forest paths, enjoying your morning coffee at the waterfalls or just relaxing by the fire. We will definitely return for another stay!

Rustic Off Grid Cabin
This is our second stay at the cabin and we had an amazing weekend . The cabin is exactly as described and the water is so clean and clear..Don is always super helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Already planning another weekend :)

The Nomad- Woodland bunkie with Sauna
We reserved the Hideaway and Nomad Cabins for 3 nights, and had a wonderfly tranquil experience. The kayak launch is a couple minutes drive away, and there are various hiking trails on the property to explore. A huge highlight of our stay was the outdoor showers! But if people feel more comfortable, there is a indoor shower in the public restroom. Additionally, the view of the stars without light pollution was absolutely amazing. Hosts were always accomodating, kind, and very quick to respond to respond to all inquiries.

Magical Private Island - Kingston, Ontario
Our family of 4 loved staying on the island! It was definitely rustic living, but the cabin had everything necessary to cook, sleep, and enjoy the island comfortably. The scenery was beautiful and we spent much of our time in, near, or on the water. Donna provided a canoe and we brought our own inflatable paddle board. Both were in use often during our stay. The upstairs of the house would get warm on hot days, but cooled down significantly at night. The beds were comfortable and we had some excellent nights of sleep during our stay. Our dog vacationed with us and she was so happy to run free and wade in the water all day, every day. Donna was an excellent host. She was always available to answer questions. She communicated with us consistently and was flexible when we arrived later than expected. Staying by ourselves on an island was a very cool experience and we will fondly remember this unique and special place for years to come! Thank you Donna!

The Robin's Nest- Woodland Cabin with Sauna
Our stay at the Robin's Nest was a perfect getaway for my husband and I. We enjoyed the quaint rustic cabin and stayed cozy with the woodstove. The wood-fired sauna and cold plunge tub were a real treat! We look forward to staying here again.

Bunkie on Cottage Lot
Absolutely stunning location on Lake Mazinaw, a mere three minute drive to the beautiful Bon Echo. Bunkie was spacious and had everything you need for a quiet, tranquil weekend gateway.

The Naturalist- Woodland bunkie with Sauna
Booked a last minute trip. It was great! Clean out house, cool sauna and relaxing location. Property was well maintained and beautiful. Cabin was just big enough for the bed and a couple extra feet. Perfect if you really into the outdoors. Enjoyed the outside shower and it was easy to use. Would recommend black out curtains and a fan. No power on site but we were well prepared. Our make shift kitchen did its job. Was a nice romantic get away. Would highly recommend this little gem if you’re looking for a much more comfortable way to go camping.

Waterfront on Kennebec Lake - private Cedar Bunkie
Rene is very responsive host. It was nice staying in Rene’s bunkie in the weekend especially it’s holy week. My partner and I went here to stay for 2 nights and just spend some peaceful from working. Would definitely back for the summer time.

Pine Peak - Your Country Escape
We spontaneously booked at Pine Peak and it was so lovely! There were so many activities for kids and a great view from the cabin. We will be back !

Windy Island Homestead Cabin
I can’t say enough about Virginia and her amazing retreat. We were looking for a simple halfway stop on our way home from seeing family in the US and found this amazing space run by wonderful people. It was a treasure and we will be back. This beautiful family is forging a new way of living and travel that is sustainable and gives me hope. She is a great host if you have children and are interested in forest school and learning about local history and geography. My son was free to run and hear nothing but nature sounds and then we took the ferry everyday into Kingston to explore Canadian history and culture and eat amazing food. We went to the Wolfe Island hotel to eat local wonderful food and visited the stunning isolated beach every night at sunset. Wolfe Island is a place like no other. I had such a great connection with the host and her commitment to the earth and the future. Thank you Virginia!

North Frontenac Escapes
Had a wonderful time. Dave and Annette were amazing hosts...so many little touches, great detailed notes, and a welcoming and cozy place to relax.

WaTERFRoNT TiNY HoUSe for Two - Private Getaway
Joelle's place is exactly as described, a delightful tiny house sitting above a quiet lake, amidst a mixed forest. I heard loons, coyotes and owls, too.

Rustic Meets Luxury
We had a great time at Lisa’s property. The place was very comfortable, clean and peaceful. It was nice to disconnect and enjoy coffee by the river. Communication was excellent at all times. We definitely recommend this cottage, it has everything you need and more!

Lakefront Tiny Cabin | Outdoor Shower | Kayaking
Our stay was amazing! We went in the beginning of October and there was hardly anyone there. The environment was absolutely stunning, the fall rhapsody was in full effect. There also was a tone of stuff to do, like a dog park, hiking, canoeing, badminton, etc. the cabin itself was small but very cozy. Just remember to bring warm clothes and bedding if you go in the fall because there is just a small heater. We were very comfortable though. Thanks for such a lovely stay!

The 5 Pines Cabin
If you're into off-the-grid adventures, this place has definitely got the charm! Hats off to Ernie, who went above and beyond. When he caught wind of an incoming storm, he swung by to make sure we had everything we needed. Ernie's got some serious skills, the cabin is cozy and rustic, making it a perfect retreat. The generator gave us a bit of a hard time, but Ernie came by to give us a hand and he mentioned he was going to make some adjustments to make it easier to use for future guests. Now, the fun part - getting there. We knew it was remote, but heads-up: the last stretch is a bit of an off-road adventure. Thanks to some rain, and to be fair, it was an unusual amount, one of our cars (Tesla Model 3) had to stay at the neighbour's house because it was too low to the ground. All and all we had a great time. Thanks Ernie, it was awesome meeting you!

Glamping Cabin at Balderson Blueberries
Arlene is a terrific host. This was my second stay at the cabin. I love the old woodfired cook stove, screened-in porch, kerosene lamps and peaceful, green surroundings. The bed and pillows in the main room were very comfortable. I used 1 of the kerosene lamps and the battery-operated lantern each evening and on a cloudy morning, but the cabin was quite bright during the day. I would recommend bringing an extra table top battery-operated lantern. I knew there would be no running water and got used to washing my hands and dishes, using the jug of water on the counter and basin provided. I was out and about all day so didn’t end up cooking at the cabin this time but could see that there was a variety of pots and pans, cutlery, cooking utensils, plates and bowls. There is a table in the porch as well as the main room so that is where I enjoyed the evening.

Bunkie on Howe Island
what a beautiful place!! beautiful view, very quiet, very private, comfortable bed, plenty of coffees & tees! my dog played with their doggie. very friendly kind people. we enjoyed walking on frozen lake, making fire in the snow. we definitely wanna visit in summer time!

Unique Waterfront Glass Cabin
We were looking for a quiet fall cabin getaway and this provided us with exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was located on a fairly private section in the trees. There was a walking trail near by and access to the water and a dock. By traveling in the off season the park was pretty quiet. 😊 The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the cozy inside comforts of home as well as the great deck and wonderful forest and river view. Mike, the park manager, was very friendly and helpful. He greeted us upon our arrival and showed us to our cabin making sure we had everything we needed for our stay. There was a bit of a grumpy resident camper who came over to complain as soon as we arrived because our dogs were playing and burning off some steam after being in the car for a couple hours. The dogs were both on long lines, but he claimed the dogs were loud & he was going to complain to the park manager about us. If he did we didn’t hear about it.

Tiny Cabin in the Woods w/ Stargazing & StarLink
The cabin is a gorgeous, peaceful oasis, perfect for recharging among the trees. Joe is an incredibly kind, helpful and welcoming host, and has thought of everything guests might need! He went above and beyond to accommodate me and my dog, Stella, and even provided art supplies, binoculars and a bird-watching guide. He also recommended lots of pup-friendly activities to explore in the area. We'll be coming back to the Petite Maison Rouge as soon as we can!

Sunset Cottage
Here's a condensed version under 1000 characters: "We've rented many cottages, and this one is by far the cleanest. The waterfront is beautiful, with a well-kept fire pit and a peaceful lake that felt private during the week. The cottage was thoughtfully stocked with everything from soap and coffee to all the necessary appliances. The internet was fast, and the heat pump kept us warm on cooler nights. We kayaked and canoed around the lake several times, enjoying the wildlife—turtles, herons, ducks, loons, and frogs. The fire pit was perfectly placed for sunset views, with plenty of kindling and wood. The BBQ worked great, and Verona offered everything we needed, including good food at Muddy Waters Restaurant and treats at a local bakery and Kawartha ice cream shop. The fall colors were stunning throughout our stay. Highly recommend this cottage for a peaceful, well-equipped getaway!"

Escape Goat Hideaway at Barking Goat Farms
Just have to add my voice to the chorus of glowing reviews here. Had an absolutely wonderful experience at Deb and Brent's -- the perfect way to disconnect and unwind. The cabin and property are charming, clean, peaceful and private. Off-grid with all the comforts we needed. Deb and Brent put so much thought and care and love into their farm. Delicious, homemade coffee cake and a warm, lit wood-burning stove were waiting for us when we arrived. We spent the evening wandering through the fields and woods on the property, took in an absolutely stunning sunset, and soaked in the nighttime chorus of forest sounds under the stars by the campfire. In the morning, Deb took us on a tour of the farm and introduced us to the resident farm animals -- each with their own personality! Highlights were the baby goats, just a few weeks old, who constantly just love to jump around everywhere in pure joy. It was inspiring to hear the story of how the farm came to be. A big thank you to Deb and Brent!

Hobbit House: Enchanting Cabin in the Glades
This was one of the most amazing experiences ever and worth every single penny. So magical. My partner and I booked this trip to be able to disconnect from the busy hustle of the city and we got just that. We are so appreciative to have been able to stay at the Hobbit House. We will definitely be back and cannot wait!

Loft style cabin situated on 2.5 acres of woodland
This is a lovely and tranquil spot, a favourite that we’ve returned to three times now. There are plenty of places to hike through nature nearby and there’s even great takeout food just a few minutes drive away. Our nights were filled with stars and the sounds of coyotes and owls. Our days were graced with soaring eagles, chipmunks and deer. Cherry Ann is a great host who makes sure the cabin is pristine for all the guests, and is responsive to our needs. We are already planning our return next year.
