We are conveniently situated between the two villages of Killeagh & Castlemartyr with just a 5 minute drive to each & 10 to the beach. Being on Section 6 of the Eurovelo1 Cycling Route we welcome cyclists, providing a covered area for your bikes. Comfy bed, private bathroom & kitchenette.

The Wee Cottage

This is a 3 bedroom small cottage with a spacious outdoor area that includes a south facing patio, lounge chairs, picnic bench and a gas barbecue. Washing machine and dryer are both provided as-well as Netflix on the tv. Conveniently located 6km outside of Youghal, which has spectacular beaches and plenty of bars and restaurants. Glenbower woods is 5km from the house which offers nice peaceful walks. Cork city is a 45 minute drive with regular buses running from both Youghal and Killeagh.

Local attractions include the new Midleton to Youghal greenway, Velo1 Cycle route, Castlemartyr Resort and Golf club, Jameson Distillery-Midleton and the Titanic Experience-Cobh. Walking distance to village shops, restaurant, coffee shops and bars. Local amenities include the beautiful Glenbower Woods, 7 km to the seaside town of Youghal and several beaches, and 25 km to Cork City.

The Yard is a short drive to beaches, golf courses, renowned restaurants. We are also an ideal base to explore towns of Youghal & Midleton, both being only a 15/20 minute drive.

Lighthouse keepers; Home of the year finalist

Welcome to the lighthouse keepers house! We have been voted as one of Ireland’s top 50 places to stay by the Irish Independent #Fab50 ( number 26 :)) We spent two years renovating this 200 year old building. In May 2020, it featured on RTE Home of the year and became a finalist in the top 7 homes in Ireland. Irish lights built all 76 lighthouses & keepers houses in Ireland, and this is the only lighthouse keepers house in a town in Ireland!

Ballymaloe Cottage is a guest house with self-catering accommodation. We are located in quiet East Cork, in close proximity to the beach and beautiful woodland walks. Cork City with its airport is 30min away. We have three fully renovated en-suite bedrooms, that can be rented separately or for one larger party of 8. The new large guest kitchen is well-equipped, the bedrooms and bathrooms are modern, luxurious and comfortable.
