A 40 year celebration of being married. It was the perfect place for us to relax and enjoy our time together. Many highlights the hot tub view the peacock and peahen dance every night... The night flyover from the herons. Martyn was a perfect host very helpful. Perfect memories thank you.

We spent 5 nights here at the end of March and start of April 2025. We were really fortunate with the weather and took full advantage of the wonderful location: scaling Slight Side and Scafell on one day, riding to Coniston via the bridleway on another and 'bagging' most of the Coniston fells on another day via Wrynose Pass. We ate in on a couple of nights and also went to the Wainwright's for some pub grub, as well as Stoves for their evening menu. Simon and Belinda's place is very well situated in Great Langdale for all kinds of walks and rides, food and decent pints. The house itself is a lovely place to return to in the evening with easy parking outside for our van and once inside, everything is spotless, well equipped and cosy. We really appreciated all the helpful information on bike routes and walking routes and spent the late evenings by the fire pouring over the Wainwright books planning the next day's adventures. 100% recommended.

We had such a lovely stay! It was well located for getting out for local walks and was wonderful to come back to at the end of the day (the hot tub and sauna were wonderful after a day hiking!). The place had everything we needed and Jane and Steve were really helpful - thank you!

Beautiful cottage. Was perfect for us and the dogs. Fully enclosed fenced garden with a gate down to a quiet riverside walk. The hottub was huge and warm ready for our arrival. Everything we needed was available in the kitchen. We only stayed for 1 night so cannot comment on the local area as we did not do much exploring but we noticed a spar walking distance just down the road and a few cafes.

Lovely place. Accurate pictures, though when you get there it feels even nicer than photos can show. Very friendly and responsive. Sometimes it can be quite a vulnerable experience travelling as an LGBTQIA+ couple, but here we felt welcome and safe. Hope to visit again with friends and family.

Another wonderful stay at Red Stables. The views from the lounge and hot tub are to die for, you're absolutely in the middle of the countryside and it's so quiet and peaceful. Head to the tub to completely wind down or stay connected via the high speed WiFi if you must! You can stream movies or your favourites on the internet connected Tv. Plus there's a great Farm Shop and Cafe five minutes away in the car. Highly recommended.

Our stay at The Stables was heaven. Paul welcomed us and showed us around and had even set up the hot tub for us arriving. The house was immaculate with everything you could possibly need and beautifully decorated too. We loved the Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom. The garden was beautiful and so peaceful and our two dogs loved it, it was completely secure for them which meant we could relax. The view from the garden and the location were wonderful, it was just what we needed. We didn’t want to leave and would love to come back sometime soon. Thank you for being wonderful hosts and for our cheeseboard and Prosecco it was such a thoughtful touch.

Staying at The Distillery was an absolute dream. Communication with Margaret was outstanding and we felt immediately welcomed. The welcome pack and touches were really appreciated. Location was fantastic and we could travel into the Lakes with ease, within Dumfries and Galloway, and even got the train to Edinburgh for a day out with ease. Evenings were spent relaxing in the hot tub under the stars. You won't be disappointed if you book here!

Cosy but spacious cottage in great location for access to the beach/estuary and nearby Silloth. Within easy reach of many interesting locations along the Solway. Very dog friendly, comfy bed and peaceful. Hope to be back!

Had a lovely stay at hilltop cottage. The cottage was beautifully decorated and we felt right at home. The bathtub was amazing, and the little touches like marshmallows for hot chocolate by the fire was a great touch.

Delightful little rustic, comfortable cottage in a great location. Stephanie was a great host and very welcoming - even offered to carry my bags, ha ha. I am quite familiar with the area but I have no doubt Stephanie would be on hand to provide information and suggestions should you need them. After a long drive the pub within easy walking distance was a welcome respite, cold beers and good food! Thanks Steph and maybe see you again the future, all the best, Joe.

The cottage was lovely inside and out. Great and peaceful location. Close to everything you need. Inside is a very cosy, clean and well furnished place. All small details made our stay even better. The host was great, left a lot of information about everything (what to visit, best restaurants, pubs shops and cafes, how to recycle etc.). Moffat is a beautiful place, locals are lovely and most of the places are extremely dog-friendly. Our dog Vicky, which is normally quite anxious with new places and people, relaxed right away at the cottage and was super happy to get a treat or two from the lovely people around. Absolutely worth it!!

We had an exceptional stay at Manesty ! The location in was absolutely stunning, surrounded by beautiful scenery that made the visit truly special. The area was calm and peaceful, providing the perfect retreat from daily life. The host's instructions were clear, making the check-in process seamless. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the Lake District in a serene and relaxing

Lovely little cottage, spotless and cosy, garden is a sun trap if you get lucky like we did and stay during good weather days! Ideal location being a short walk to the local pub or drive to the seaside, forest etc. The owner went out of her way to help us with a problem, would definitely come back!

We had a wonderful week staying in Spa cottage. Well situated for walking and visiting local areas. Wonderful pub in village was a bonus, as was thecottageinthewood, restaurant/hotel at the top of the hill. Beautiful views and we were spoilt with great weather. Would definitely return.

From the moment I booked, Angela and Hugh have been proactively making extra effort to make sure our stay is comfortable. The directions to the property were to the point and Hugh walked us through the property and made sure we had everything we needed. It was very peaceful and beautiful..much more than the pictures. The surroundings were beautiful. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could need. The sun room was the best to sit and enjoy the green surroundings without getting cold, kids enjoyed the board games and movies on TV. It was a memorable stay, would love to visit again.
