The ideal spot for anyone needing to reconnect with someone, nature, or themselves. Enjoy fishing, crabbing, kayaking, playing corn hole, birdwatching, napping in a hammock, sipping wine, grilling out, amazing sunsets, listening to old records, playing the ukulele, and other simple pleasures of days gone by.

Historic Ware River Cottage at Glebefield

Come visit this quiet and peaceful setting on the Ware River in historic Gloucester VA. The cottage sits on a 65 acre waterfront property. This fully updated cozy cottage is a great home base for exploring Williamsburg, Yorktown, Jamestown and Richmond. Pets are welcome with a small fee and pre-approval. The Moore Cottage is a rustic-chic, fisherman's cottage.The cottage is less than a mile from Windmill Point Marina, and five miles from the town of White Stone. You will enjoy the views of amazing wildlife, boaters, the beach, and breath-taking sunsets all while sitting on the back porch. Do you want to get away from it all, change your surroundings and recharge yourself mentally and physically? Welcome to Peaceful Haven. Shops and restaurants of the lovely historic Village of Irvington are only a couple of minutes away. Hike just outside your door or in nearby parks, ride bikes around the meadows or to town, hang outside and listen to the birds, or just sink into the comfy couch to enjoy a movie on our large TV screen.

The Paddler's Rest is a relaxing guest house on Kings Creek in Mathews County with direct access to the water and a private porch. Very secluded but close to town for restaurants etc. Guests have free use of a canoe and 2 kayaks. Great area for biking--all roads lead to the water and Mathews County is perfectly flat!
