We thoroughly enjoyed our friends stay at this quaint, cozy, clean camp on False River. The sunrises and sunsets were fabulous and sitting around the fire pit was so relaxing! Would definitely return! Thanks for making us feel welcomed and the fine hospitality!

The house and property were gorgeous and perfect for our needs as a family traveling together. We loved eating breakfast on the patio overlooking the beautiful pond and enjoyed evenings by the fire pit. The house was extremely clean and well stocked. Everyone kept saying that if we are ever back in the area, it would be a great place to stay again.

If you're looking for a great place to stay and enjoy quiet time with family, fishing, whatever you want .. this is the place. We visit LA every other year to visit family but after this trip, we're going to make it an annual event. There was plenty of space for everyone, with everything you need to kick back and relax.

I will stay here every time I visit family. Unique, beautiful, vintage feel with all modern conveniences. Good Wi-Fi. Jan is the best!

so this is my second time at Mowata house tha 1st time was last Christmas it was beautiful the 2nd time was this past Easter weekend, it was breathtaking the property is well kept and beautiful we had a big crawfish boil on saturday we had Easter egg hunt on Sunday so much space my grandson and his cousins feed the sheep that was so exciting the house it self was squeaky clean it wasa perfect weekend were looking forward to our next stay.

Our short family trip here was a perfect, self-contained getaway – we didn't leave until checkout! The home is beautifully designed, fresh, laid out well, and completely appointed with everything we could need. The kitchen was a joy, especially the gas stove and griddle, and was stocked with all essentials and thoughtful extras, like equipment for longer stays and organized food storage. We spent the perfect weather days enjoying the porch and sundeck, watching the ducks, pelicans, and other birds, and even fishing with the convenient prepared rods. The pier lighting created a magical river scene at night. We made use of the large game collection. The shower was spacious for 2 with hot water with great pressure, and aloe gel was a LIFESAVER when a sunburn developed. Everything was sparkling clean and comfortable with extras, and the master bedroom smelled delightful. You can’t beat the value of this beautiful space! Thank you for a memorable family experience! We’ll be back!

As this is a family tradition to stay on false river every yr for Easter this one was bitter sweet beacause my mom wasn't there she passed away 4 months ago. She definitely would have loved it. The home was very warm and welcoming we had a great time we fished tried our hand at kayaking lol. and just hung around. We did have a few issues but it was fixed right away. It was a little pricy but it was worth the stay everything was beautiful and the hosts was very helpful and respectful and responsive to our needs. We will definitely book ago. Linni's place was more than I expected, a beautiful and peaceful garden on the Bayou. From the refreshing saltwater pool to the hammocks under the majestic trees, the breeze and the flowers and the shade - it was perfect. They were delightful hosts and I will come back!

We had a pleasant stay. The place inside was as described, very clean and equipped. The yard in front and the riverfront is lovely. Two minor notes: the roadway is kind of close so you can hear a bit. There is some issue with the bathroom lock, without locking it you can end being locked. Final last note: we had heavy rain one night and the river level almost reached the ground level. Fortunately there was no flooding in our area.

Definitely recommend this place! Will definitely be going back!
