Nestled between the historic towns of Yackandandah and Beechworth, with the rail trail at our doorstep, and an easy drive to the Victorian snowfields, Colby Cottages is ideally located to make the most of the local wineries, picturesque hikes and many outdoor pursuits - giving you privacy and comfort in a rural setting

Wee Varrich

Wee Varrich nestles within a delightful landscape; a fusion of carefully sculptured plantings of trees, shrubs, hedges, lawns and vines, against the power of the Stanley State Forest. Situated on the edges of Stanley village, the entrance to Varrich is a winding path through tall eucalypts. The property is situated on 2.49 hectares on land that was mined during the Gold rush era of the 1850’s. Wee Varrich is a fully self-contained cottage adjacent to the main house and secluded by plantings.

Farm stay, private guest room & lounge

If you want a comfortable, clean and private place to rest your head after checking out all the Victorian High Country has to offer, then this is the place for you! The guest space is within a family farm house but completely private with a separate entrance. We’re on a 55 acre farm near Mt Pilot, surrounded by National Park, mountain tracks and beautiful views. On offer is a double room with large ensuite, large lounge area with a sofa bed, private entrance + parking at the front.

Mt Stanley Road luxury accommodation is located on the edge of the Stanley township, North East Victoria. You will enjoy a quiet, relaxing stay overlooking our vineyard with rolling farm and mountain forest views. It is ideally located with Hillsborough cafe and providore a 2 minute stroll for breakfast, lunch or coffee and The Stanley Pub for meals and a cold beverage. Just a ten minute drive from historic Beechworth this unique residence provides the perfect tranquil getaway.

More than just a place to stay — Mittagong Talia is a 54-acre secluded bush escape beside Reedy Creek in Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park 30mins from Beechworth, designed to help you switch off and unwind. Soak in the outdoor bath, enjoy the stillness of the bush and relax by the fire with a boardgame or a book. Sleeps up to 6. Best suited to couples and adults. Due to the natural bush setting, creek, uneven terrain and wood fire, it's not suitable for children under 12.

Two-level studio cottage in a gorgeous garden: perfect getaway for two. Beautifully refurbished. Self-contained with a queen bedroom opening to a private deck with barbecue that overlooks the garden. Downstairs is a sitting room opening to a terrace, separate kitchen with induction cooktop and bathroom. Historic, gold-era Beechworth is 4km away. Beechworth is popular and weekends especially book out early. Our settings aim to be fair to both guests and hosts.

Enjoy the rail and mountain bike trails close by, with everything else in Victoria’s famed North East just an easy drive away.

The cottage is fully self contained from the main house .You will have your own private BBQ and sitting area to enjoy during your stay. We are only a short drive to Beechworth and Yackandandah . Ideally located to visit all the historic surrounding areas.

Fabulous Orange, Lemon and Grapefruit Trees, Granny Smith and Jonathan Apple Trees to help yourself.

Historic Wark Cottage

Wark Cottage (circa 1895) named after the original owner William Frederick Wark, has been meticulously restored to modern day standards while retaining its worker cottage roots. Original features throughout complete with pressed tin finishes, hardwood floors and working fireplace. Wark Cottage draws you back in time and creates a tranquil and relaxing place to locate yourself while visiting Chiltern and surrounds.
