Take the ferry from the marina and experience sea life such as dolphins, seals, or a bald eagle on your trip.

The Adventure House

The Adventure House was named by a family of houseguests with 3 fun and lively children who filled their time here with adventures at Acadia National Park and beyond! We are 10 minutes from the quiet side of the park and just under an hour to the busy side, both filled with scenic beauty! We have an added amenity for families traveling with extra family or friends. We're now offering a beautiful camper that comfortably sleeps 6 on the property available only for an extra charge after booking.

Schoodic Loft Cabin "The Roost" with Kayaks

This playful cabin offers a unique spot to unwind and explore the Schoodic peninsula and Downeast Maine. Kayaks are provided to explore island studded 462 acre Jones pond, a 10 minute walk down a trail. A 10 minute drives brings you to the less visited Schoodic section of Acadia NP, where a network of hiking and biking trails lace the coastal forests and dramatic rocky coast. Nearby Winter Harbor has shops and restaurants and even a ferry across the bay to Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island.

Captain Guptill House overlooks Frenchman Bay, with views of Acadia National Park Schoodic and Mark Island Lighthouse. Watch the lobster boats haul their traps and return with their catch. Relax on your front porch, stargazing or just breathing in the ocean air. Walk 1/2 mile up to the Village of Winter Harbor with it's quaint shops and restaurants. If hiking, biking or walking is your thing, the Park has miles of trails. Or do what people come to Maine to do - eat lobster fresh off the boat.

This bungalow is located closer to the national park than any other cottage rental on the Schoodic Peninsula. The interior is charming and airy with everything you could possibly need. Walk to the ocean and enjoy coffee along the shore in Acadia National Park. At night, marvel at the stars you feel like you could reach up and touch. Our night skies are among the best in the country. In daylight walk or ride a bicycle around our scenic 6-mile loop road with one stunning view after another.

Relax with the whole family at this charming and peaceful home. Located in central Winter Harbor, walking distance to restaurants, shops and beautiful water views. Bike or drive the 6-mile Acadia National Forest Park loop, which is just 3 miles away. The scenic view around the park is spectacular. Great hiking. Short ferry ride to Bar Harbor, running 4-5 times daily from late May to Columbus Day. Free Island Explorer provides shuttle service in the area and all over Bar Harbor.

The house is situated on the edge of serene West Bay with views of the water throughout. 2 private decks and a large screened in porch a fire pit and a shirt walk to the waters edge make for easy summer living. For the adventurous, 2 kayaks are available for exploring serene West Bay.

Take the local ferry to MDI to explore Bar harbor’s restaurants and shops, or stay local and enjoy the less traveled side of Acadia National Park, Schoodic Pennisula (5-10 minute drive).
