The DNR stocked trout stream (West Canoe Creek) is less than 100 yards from the front door and flows through this 24 acre sanctuary. Mowed trails provide easy hiking and exploring. Located 11 miles north of Decorah, less than 22 miles to the Lanesboro area and less than 7 miles to most the Upper Iowa River port ins near Bluffton, IA. Burr Oak is home to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum, the only childhood home that remains on its original site. Come spend a few days relaxing in this quaint, relaxed community and enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding area.

Cowboy Cabin

Secluded and peaceful cabin on top of quarry cliff, just a few minutes from town. The cabin will comfortably sleep four, with two mattresses in the loft and a futon in the living area. There is no electricity to the cabin but there is a nice power block with up to 14 hours of use per charge. 10 gal. of water is provided, also a camp-bag shower. An outhouse is on site. Wood: first bundle free, 8$ for additional large bundles Stock tank cool plunge pool: lightly chlorinated.
