The Bird's Nest - Cabin by the River

Located on one of the Seven Bends of the Shenandoah River, the Bird’s Nest is a brand new, custom built 800 square foot cabin featuring an open loft with king bed and skylights, steam shower, heated bathroom floor, and gas fireplace. Exterior amenities include a hot tub, gas grill, gas fire pit table, fire pit by the river, and private river access in a peaceful, wooded setting. Kayaks/tubes are available to use to float down the river with the unique ability to park/exit on the hosts’ property.

Gloriously private without feeling secluded, this charming guesthouse was totally updated in 2019. Enjoy the peace and quiet. Go for a walk or bike ride on the 28 plus acres or pretty rural lanes. 2.5 miles away is Lake Robertson for activities . Sit on the porch too! On a snowy night, enjoy the wd-burning fireplace . Enjoy our rustic, cozy, historic log cabin in the woods on 21 acres with two streams and a little meadow. The logs, from the 1800's, were reconfigured 17 years ago combining a rich history with high speed internet and modern amenities. Sink into the luscious bed with totally organic sheets, mattress topper, and pillows. Take a walk on the original wagon train road down to a stream or bath your senses in the majestic view of Jump Mountain from the meadow.

The Cabin is a luxurious rural escape, with a 3-person hot tub. Located on a permaculture homestead and native plant sanctuary, the space overlooks the garden and is surrounded by forest. Natural/local materials were used throughout (built in 2023).
