The Treehouse: Off-grid Retreat

Shaded in a canopy of macrocarpa trees at the base of Mt Taranaki national park, The Treehouse is a grown-up childhood sanctuary. Built from recycled materials, a repurposed spiral staircase takes you up the multiple levels of The Treehouse to a secluded living space nestled between the trees. Kick back in the canopy, swoop on the swings or shoot down the slide. This self-contained treehouse is powered by renewable energy and is only a short drive to New Plymouth, local beaches and the mountain.

Wisteria Cottage - Cosy and Tranquil

Experience the tranquility of our country cottage, perfectly positioned amongst native trees. Our Cottage is cosy, newly refurbished and fully equipped. On a nice day a short walk provides breathtaking views of our beautiful mountain. Flights cancelled and need accomodation? We are 5 mins from the airport and may be available to pickup/drop off. Please note : -We are 10 minutes drive to the heart of the city. -Please expect traffic noise -Our home is on the same property -Must love cats!

River Belle Glamping

River Belle is set on a working farm only 10 minutes away from the city of New Plymouth. A secluded Glamping site set on 160 acres next to Mangaoraka river. A geodesic dome luxuriously fitted out, is accompanied by a amenities hut, providing a charming kitchen and separate bathroom. The hut has an outdoor bath with view of Mt Taranaki. Sea Breeze is perched high up on Onaero Beach Road. A 3 minute walk to access the beautiful secluded Onaero Beach. Upon arrival wander up the path through the attractive garden which opens out onto a substantial deck with magnificent views of the ocean. Comfortable and roomy this beach house comes with everything you need. Sea Breeze is the perfect place for a family holiday or just to get away for some peace and quiet. Relax and watch the waves or, on cooler days, curl up by the wood burner.

Panoramic views of sea, 1 min walk to the beach, surf, kayak, hike Mt Taranaki or bike the Coastal Walkway. 3 min to playground. Master Bedroom with ensuite upstairs. Well equipped kitchen with gas hob, oven, microwave, TV, Netflix and free wifi. 15-20 mins from New Plymouth. 10 minutes from Airport. 40 mins from White Cliffs Walk, 15 mins to Pukekura Park Festival of the Lights. 35mins to Mt Taranaki. Some book for 1 guest and show up with 6. So we check our door camera. Please be honest.

Mill House - Villa on Forgotten World Highway

This lovely villa was built in the early 1900’s by the McCluggage Family, who operated sawmills in the area. Their endeavors included the construction of a tunnel, in 1924, at the rear of the property to provide access to timber on the Whangamomona Saddle where it still remains today. Mill House is a fully furnished, four bedroom/one bathroom home that comfortably sleeps eight. Whether you are travelling through or looking to getaway, Mill House can provide you with tranquility and relaxation.

Te Awa Cottage Set on 30 Acre Organic Farm

Mahoetahi Farm a 30 acres organic farm Greg & I have retired to. Te Awa cottage is modern, light and airy, high stud & 2 generous bedrooms with a comfortable Ikea Sofa bed in the lounge. Spacious dining inside & out. Kitchen/bathroom well equipped & clean. Like to share flowers & produce from the garden when available. We love people & sharing our local knowledge. Next door Te Maunga cottage sleeps 2-4. Come and explore Taranaki. Ask about early check in or latecheck when available.
