We had a wonderful time here. The home was just like the photos - the view was truly spectacular. We had beautiful sunny days and enjoyed having a beach right at our doorstep. We have a young family and found the place to be very family friendly, with beach toys available, a safe home for young kids, a playground nearby, and a beach safe for young kids. My children especially loved seeing the seals and hearing them bark! The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals at home, everything was clean, the beds comfy - no problems! Highly recommend, and we'd love to stay again.

The cabin was a wonderful spot. Quiet and private. Adam was very helpful and responsive. Unfortunately the Wifi was out and Telus couldn't get out to fix it, but that's not on Adam and a risk of staying in a remote area.

Lovely space to spend my holiday away

Loved our stay at the Little Bear Cabin. Richard went above and beyond to get the hot tub set up in winter conditions. The wood fired hot tub is great in the winter and worth the effort. Thank Richard for a great time!!

We stayed for three nights in April 2025. We really enjoyed it, the place is fantastic with beautiful views. Clean and comfortable, the house is so much fun, if a little rustic in places. Slightly disappointed the fire is a gas one but hey ho, we would love to come again. The deck, beach access, hot tub (not fully functional) and the canoes were fantastic. The beach pools are alive with fish and crabs and we had great fun pottering around trying to catch them. Highly recommend some halibut from the seafood shop up the road; great on the bbq. We saw bald eagles, hummingbirds and vultures from the sun room. We were only three , but note the third bedroom is an anteroom to the second bedroom with just a curtain for privacy which might be an issue for larger groups. We were sad to leave.

Cathy is a Superhost in my books. She thought of every detail, communicated clearly, proactively and responsively. Easy check in/out process. The covered porch allowed us to sit outside by the ocean, even during inclement weather. Cathy had even turned on the fireplace for our arrival (it was a cold and rainy day)! Kitchen was stocked with essential cooking accessories, spices, oil, coffee, tea, etc. What a welcoming feeling!! Thank you so much! Highly recommend!!

Beautiful tiny home in a great rural area but also close to downtown Courtenay. We loved the high ceilings and light you get in the cabin. Had a small hiccup during our stay but the hosts were quick to respond and correct the issue. Would stay again. Thanks!

We had a great stay at Andrew’s place. There was a small issue with the heating but he was very responsive and did his best to solve the problem. The cottage had everything you need to cook a family meal and a fire that heats up the whole living space. Overall it was a lovely cottage to spend a long weekend.

The cottage is located in a peaceful and picturesque bay. It is the perfect base to explore the Johnstone Strait and visit nearby Telegraph Cove. The cottage has a gorgeous kitchen with all amenities and basic groceries such as coffee, tea, sugar, oil, spices etc. Check-in and check-out was done through the friendly RV Park Reception (which is only open until 8pm, so be sure to arrive beforehand! We didn't know this and arrived just after 8pm when they were closing up, but luckily still managed to catch them). The Reception also sells some basic stuff and we got their vegetarian chili with rice and corn tortillas, which was delicious. They sell it frozen and vacuum packed, so perfect for a quick easy meal. Would definitely be staying here again!

We loved it here! The cottage and property were so charming and inviting. Our kids loved their cozy bed nooks with toys hidden underneath. We all enjoyed spending time with the animals and wandering the wonderful flower and vegetable gardens. Carol was exceptionally welcoming and generous. We would definitely recommend staying here and are already planning to return.

Thanks to Kirstie for a fantastic stay! The cabin was exactly as advertised - a rustic space in a beautiful spot by the lake. We really enjoyed BBQing, swimming and kayaking after days out walking. Would definitely recommend!

beautiful place which is right on the ocean. The view was incredible! The back deck was amazing and we spent hours on it. It was easy to walk down the steps to paddleboard on the ocean every evening. Kitchen was well stocked and even had snacks for the kids which was really appreciated. If we are ever back on Hornby Island we would stay again.

Nicole and Todd provide us with a sensational service - we were pleasantly surprised to find a small wellcome package in the form of coffee and a bottle of wine when we arrived late - and they offer to help us at any time should we need it. We really enjoyed our 3 week stay in the lovingly furnished house with its great facilities, luxurious shower and location on the edge of town with sea views. If we ever go fishing on Vancouver Island again, the house of Nicole and Todd. will be our first choice for our home.

Amazing stayed! Highly recommended. Brian went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt welcomed and comfortable. The communication was seamless, with quick responses to any questions I had before and during the stay.

Gail’s cottage was an incredibly warm and welcoming place to stay. She is thoughtful about every part of the cottage with lovely decor, comfortable bedding, and a very clean space. The incredible beach was just a short walk away. She was so friendly and responsive to all my questions, I can’t wait to come back!

We had a fantastic time. The location right by the water was the highlight of our stay. We even spotted whales and other wildlife with our binoculars. The accommodation was cozy and well-equipped, making us feel right at home. Thank you to our hosts for this memorable experience. We hope to return soon!

We loved our stay at Tara's place! We spent Easter with our three teenaged kids and had the best time. The home is welcoming and cozy, the beds comfortable, all the towels and toiletries we needed. The master bedroom was more spacious than expected so we put a mattress on the floor for our 3rd kid. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some, including condiments and things for cooking proper meals. The house was so clean and spotless that I literally double-checked the listing to see if we were the first people ever to rent the place (nope). But what stole the show was the view - we couldn't believe our eyes when we woke up and stepped out onto the deck, and took in the peaceful bay with the mountains in the background. The private dock is icing on the cake, and we dropped our paddleboards in for a paddle around. The area is remote so bring your major groceries with you, but there's a wee store in town plus the backeddy pub (fish + chips!) and a food truck (ceviche!) nearby

The cabin of your childhood dreams…sit back, relax, enjoy the lake and connect with family/friends. North Lake has fabulous swimming and almost no bugs. The cabin has a lovely view and lots of different areas to sleep. Lynne was a great host, very attentive and communicative. We had a lovely time, thanks Lynne.

My family had a great stay at Louise’s cottage. Easy to find and really lovely layout. The kids were excited to sleep in the loft bedroom on the second level and I was pleased there was a door to the bedroom to keep noise out in the evenings! The other two bedrooms on the main level are very comfortable and far apart from each other. There’s a small backyard off the deck, a rustic bridge over a stream and then Little Trib beach. We had a blast going to and from easily during our stay and knew ahead of time that the beach is considered “clothing optional” but Louise was kind enough to add this detail into our checking in information among some other helpful facts. We didn’t have any issues while we were in the cabin and felt all the details were thought of including everything you’d need to start a fire in the wood stove. We would absolutely stay again!
