Forest & Forage House: Finnish wood-fired sauna

Forest & Forage House sits on 11 private acres on Quadra Island, surrounded by mature forest, organic gardens and a large lawn. Beyond the gardens are a traditional Finnish wood-fired sauna, cold plunge and outdoor shower. Designed by architect Rob Wood and built by J. Toelle Construction, its timber frame was made from trees felled and milled on the property. South-facing windows overlook trees and gardens, and the living room has a wood stove. Much of the 20-year-old interior remains original.

Big Tree Cottage- Quadra Island, BC

This very private cottage is clean, bright and comfortable. A wood stove and all natural wood interior with vaulted ceiling making it bright, comfortable, spacious, and inviting. The peace of the forest is rejuvenating and the outdoor bath tub for two a great joy. Beautiful hikes, kayaking, mountain biking and whale watching opportunities abound, and on rainy days, an eclectic selection of dvds. a A wonderful place to unplug for a few days. Fully self-contained 2 bedroom Sea Cottage. Direct beach access surrounded by forest. Quiet, remote and elegant. Pet friendly There is a $10 fee PER DAY for your pet ~ Airbnb will collects only for the first 2 days. Home-baked treats upon arrival. Whales frequently seen from our beach which is a rock hounds paradise No parties. Dunroven is adult oriented ~ no children under the age of 10. Check in time is 3 p.m. Check out time is 10 a.m. Stay a week and the 7th night is free.

Mountains Edge Bungalow

This cozy bungalow is equipped with a full kitchen and bathroom with tub and shower. One queen bed in the loft but due to it being a loft there is limited head space and a steep ladder staircase to access it so not safe for small children or people with mobility issues. The couch in the living room pulls out into a double bed for extra sleeping space. Kitchen is stocked with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sugar and salt and pepper. Fire pit area outside with picnic table.
