Painswick - The Queen of the Cotswolds - is a beautiful historical village with plenty of wonderful Cotswold stone architecture and features its historic church with towering spire as it's centre-point. A stroll through the village is essential and there are numerous heritage boards around the main streets providing historical information. There is also a seasonal information centre located in the old gravediggers hut in the famous graveyard where you can discover the village's mystical yew trees. The Painswick Centre is also worth a visit, being an arts hub to the area and housing some local artists. A beautiful village with plenty of character!

Stunning local Arboretum with visitor centre and cafe. Beautiful, just beautiful! About a 30/40 minute drive. If you go via Nailsworth or Tetbury these towns are also worth a walk around.

A little bit of a drive (35-40 minutes) but well worth a visit. The castle is literally steeped in history having been the home to Henry VIII's final and surviving wife Katherine Parr. The exhibition displays inside the house are very interesting and the grounds are beautiful. There is plenty to keep the kids occupied and the drive across to Winchcombe - if you go cross country will not disappoint.

One of our local farm shops which is bountiful with local produce. The farms grows much if its own produce including plenty of spring and summer berries. The farm has a great Pick Your Own offering which the kids love. It also has an outdoor cafe in Summer and play park.

COVID 19 Update - sadly the Falcon is currently closed until further notice. The other local pub, The Royal Oak will be opening on 12 April for outdoor meals in their lovely courtyard.

Muddy boots are not a problem. You can walk from the house and it will take about an hour. The walk is breathtaking but there are a few hills along the way!

Now known as The Polo Pub, this is a wonderful place. Recently taken over by the British Polo Gin Company based in the Cotswolds, this pub has an amazing outdoor area and also restaurant. The food is brilliant, serving local food and drink and of course Gin. A lovely wine list and service is great. They even offer a courtesy bus home if drinkies have been enjoyed too much!
Lovely spot for a pint and some lunch with great views. This would be a good spot to stop for refreshments in the way back from Selsey Common, Woodchester Mansion or Coley Peak.
