Reluctant to go public, mask or no mask? Oakland has a phenomenal bunch of restaurants that offer home delivery through Caviar, as well as other delivery services.
A few we think are extra special include Lucia Pizza, The Ramen Shop, and Comal Nextdoor. And for real decadence, Cookie Bar Creamery for late night cookies and ice cream delivered to your door! Most of the restaurants we have recommended visiting also offer delivery.
For grocery delivery we recommend order from Berkeley Bowl thru Instacart Grocery Delivery online. Berkeley Bowl has the best quality and the largest variety, including beer, wine and deli options.
Best Thai Food you will ever have — in it's own category! Right in Montclair Village (a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive) they have a sweet outdoor seating area created for the pandemic. Or, have them deliver!

This place has always been great, but since the pandemic doubly so! From the start, the entire place was designed for outdoor dining. Very lively and upbeat, the Mexican food is tremendous. A great place for brunch. At night the bar scene picks up. Very festive.

104 Oak StThis place has always been great, but since the pandemic doubly so! From the start, the entire place was designed for outdoor dining. Very lively and upbeat, the Mexican food is tremendous. A great place for brunch. At night the bar scene picks up. Very festive.
A bustling New Orleans style restaurant that serves breakfast until 3pm every day. A huge, varied menu including five kinds of eggs benedict (!), biscuits and gravy, shirmp + grits, and their signature beignets. Never been there for lunch or dinner, but looks tremendous with classic New Orleans dishes like shrimp ettouffee. Both indoor and outdoor seating. 10 minutes away in trendy North Oakland district.

Coqueta is a sensational Spanish restaurant located on the Bay in San Francisco. Both indoor and ample outdoor seating. Extraordinary tapas (my Spanish friends give it their stamp of approval!) and famous for their Spanish gin + tonics!

Right on Lake Merritt, with plenty of outdoor seating, the Grand Lake Cafe is a comfortable, low-key place for breakfast, lunch or dinner with a simple but high quality menu. Tremendous for people watching. A real Oakland fee.
