Ideally situated in Newton Stewart, a small market town on the banks of the River Cree, Gateway to.the Galloway forest and Dark skies. The Old School House is a listed building that’s brimming with history. This spacious, four-bedroom holiday home now features sumptuous furnishings and an 8-person hot tub overlooking the gardens. The house can accommodate up to eight adults comfortably, and is a firm favourite with hill walkers and mountain bikers because of its proximity to Galloway Forest Park

Its name is both a nod to Bird Island on Strangford Lough and a reflection of our aim to create a cosy nest in which guests feel snug, comfy and relaxed.
