This home was very nice, and the private little beach was perfect for our little kids. Home was clean and we had a great time. Only thing I would want other guest to know is that if you plan on cooking your meals like we did, you want to bring a cutting board and peeling knife with you and maybe some mixing bowls and spices. We managed but I would have brought all that had I known. I would still highly recommend this home.

Beautiful and serene weekend retreat. We felt so at home. Hosts spare no expense to ensure that quests are content. I will defenitly stay here again in the future.

Our family loved our weekend in SML. This was one of the cleanest rentals I have ever stayed in. There was so much space and room to entertain and most importantly seating for everyone. Stephen is a great host. He was extremely responsive. The pictures don’t do Cedar Key Retreat justice. Everything was just perfect.

Beautiful home and setting as described. The home is very well equipped. Megan was an excellent communicator. Very nice firepit and Adirondack chairs. Proximity and view to the lake was great. if you are a boater, like to fish and enjoy quiet lake life this is great.

Shady Oaks is located in a quaint development right on the water. It's heavily wooded with lots of shade. The neighborhood is generally quiet and there is a private road that loops down and back. The house is well maintained and features lots of outdoor space to enjoy your stay. Water access is via the dock which also features an elevated deck above the dock. The kids and I spent most of our time at the dock--enjoying the cove by either fishing or kayaking (2 come with the rental). Relaxing on the deck was also great in the evening. We brought our puppy since dogs are allowed (extra $25 per day upto 2 dogs). It was nice to have an enclosed deck off the main level for our puppy to enjoy with us. The beds were very firm memory foam, but comfy. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensil, gadgets, spices, and oils. The location is convenient to the state park (a must), Virginia Dare boat tour, restaurants, and shopping. Overall a good 3-day weekend stay.

We enjoyed every minute at this beautiful house and were so sad to leave. The floor plan is perfectly smart—and our whole family enjoyed spreading out and having our own spaces. The backyard is beautiful and we lived just sitting in the rocking chairs and watching the sunsets. This house is on a very quiet cove in Craddock Creek section of lake-which was PERFECT. Quiet enough for paddle parsing and kayaking but very convenient to main channel. We loved boating up to dinner at Napolis at the Lake. The house was pristine. So clean and well appointed—the kitchen was a dream. The noise machines in the bedrooms were such a nice touch. And speaking of bedrooms—the beds were so comfortable with luxurious sheets and great pillows. That is a weird worry of ours when we stay away from home—we just want clean spaces and nice pillows, and this house exceeded our expectations. We cannot wait to book again!!

We have a great time, I will recommend for the house to have a baby gate for porch stairs sense the Clif around the house are no baby proof . the house is beautiful and super clean . Firepit area is super peaceful. I didn't. get a chance to go down to the river sense I'm pregnant and I was afraid of falling down. But everyone else went down and love it ! now be prepared for a very hard time going up . Is whole workout . My husband and Brother in law try fishing for 4 days and no luck , but they love the peaceful time seating by the river . One thing to check the AC change randomly from cold to heat I will highly recommend this place for a all adults group .

The place was really special. The view from the balcony was picturesque. I was just sorry I had to work and couldn't spend more time taking in the views. Michelle did a great job communicating with me. Everything was exactly as proposed. The place had everything I needed and then some. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. Thank you again and I may be back when work calls.

The only thing wrong with our stay was it wasn't long enough! The condo is beautiful and clean. There was a welcome cheese and cracker tray in the refrigerator for us when we arrived. The lake is gorgeous and we could have sat on the balcony watching the boats come in all day if we didn't have places to be :) There were 8 deer munching on the grass!!! It was the perfect place to stay to see a show at The Harvester. Great coffee/breakfast place just 10 min away, also on the lake. I can't wait to come back when it is a little warmer and take out the paddle board :)

Lenora's place was so cute and clean. It had all that we needed and was close to my sister. The apartment was so efficiently designed.

This was a quiet, cute and comfy place to stay and the bed was AMAZINGLY COMFORTABLE!!!!

We love Peggy’s place. The view is wonderful, and everything well apportioned. This is our second stay and would gladly visit again.

If you’re looking for a quiet place with a pieceful surrounding you can’t go wrong with Dannie’s place. Hope to return in the future with my family.

Had such a great stay at this house. Beautiful scenery, lots of porch and outdoor space, relatively private from neighboring homes. Bedrooms and amenities were as described. Kitchen was pretty well stocked w/ cooking implements and whatnot. Elizabeth is a super responsive, friendly host that made us all feel at home. Would def go back!

We loved our short stay at this beautiful lakefront vacation home. It was quiet and peaceful, and it has a lovely scenic view of the lake as soon as you drive up. It definitely exceeded our expectations. We would gladly stay here again.

We were blown away… we grew up on the lake .. and this truly made us plan on getting back asap!! Def recommend this place !!

The lake house was absolutely perfect. The house itself had everything we needed and plenty of room for our stay. The dock was great and lounging in the lake on floats was so relaxing. There is also a really cool lakeside restaurant and bar about two minutes down the road that was an added bonus. Definitely want to visit again!

A Nautical Nook was a peaceful place to spend Labor Day Weekend with our two dogs and college-age kids. We loved the dock and used kayaks each day to paddle up the lake. Our dogs loved chasing a ball in the backyard and swimming with us at the water’s edge. The location is close to Smith Mtn Lake State Park and Mariners Landing, the latter where we ate dinner three nights, rented wave runners one afternoon to explore the larger lake, and played golf one afternoon. Robert’s kitchen had all we needed and the screened in porch was great. We didn’t have any issues during our stay but up until our visit Robert was very responsive so we imagine he would have been quick to respond had anything been needed.

Ben was a perfect host. Very communicative and will do whatever it takes to make the stay as good as possible. Beautiful property and very cool layout with multiple dwellings on the property. So many beds! Great lakefront just an easy walk down from the main house. The deck with fire pit and outdoor TV along with the wiffle ball field make for a great place to hangout and spend the day with your group! Would definitely book again!

My children really enjoyed their stay here. It was the perfect size for a family of four and the outdoor space was great. My children swam from the dock which was safe because it was a very quiet part of the lake. Our family’s favorite activity was renting a pontoon for the day. We had a minor incident on the water in which a local accused us of not following rules and wanted to see our boaters’ insurance. We were in fact following all rules and as we suspected, and confirmed by the marina, this was just a ploy to get money or file an insurance claim on non locals. This was our first time in the area. It might be helpful to note this seems to be a calmer part of the lake. We found groceries within a short distance. The beaches, recommended restaurants, kid activities listed on Google searches/to do lists were about 35-45 minutes away. This home is what regular airbnb’ers might call a Goldilocks property because the family picks up and leaves their staples and bathroom amenities.

This house was beautiful right by the lake and fit a group of 7 perfectly! We weren’t sure if we could make the trip due to incoming snow, so Robyn kept us posted with pictures of the driveway and local roads the day before and was very accommodating to flexible scheduling. Her proactive response made us comfortable with making the trip and we had the best weekend! The hot tub is very clean, along with the rest of the house, and Robyn left us wood to use for the firepit. 10/10 host!
