While in a neighborhood in the town, out our doorstep, the Cowlitz River is a three minute walk. Enjoy sitting next to the wood stove after a hike up in the national park, grab a board game - lounge! Packwood is at the intersection of US HWY 12 and Gifford Pinchot Nat Forest Rd 52. Home to a brewery, coffeeshop, burger stand, tattoo artist, dive bar and more!

Welcome to Rainier Explorer Cabin in beautiful Packwood, the gateway to Mount Rainier National Park and home to White Pass Ski Resort! This petite retreat(500 sqft)is the perfect home base for all your mountain adventures. The large deck features a 4 person hot tub w/ gazebo and outdoor seating, and leads to the lighted wooded pathway to the firepit. The chabin-chic interior has been newly updated and features an electric fireplace for added coziness! River access is a 5 min walk away as well.

Great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Easy access to Mt. Rainier, 25 min. to the ski resort, close to Mt St Helens. Great home base to explore the PNW. Early check-in at 1:00pm/Late check-out at 12:00pm. We allow 2 dogs for a fee, tell us if bringing your fur babies. Can book with the Hemlock House for groups up to ten people.
