Big 1 bed cottage has comfy King mattress + 2 sleeper futons. The Cabin (only open May 1-Oct 31) has kitchenette, bathroom & Queen bed. A backyard path to hammock & chill spot by Ripples (view only, but 1/2 mile away is Long Pond for swimming, canoe/kayak rental). Grill. Firepit. Tranquility! NOTE: Cabin open May-Oct + has ceiling+box fans but no A/C

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful oceanfront home! Bring your canoe, kayak, or paddle board, and explore the Union River and Union River Bay. Renting kayaks to be delivered to the home is also an option. You’ll enjoy grilling, sitting around the fire pit, and star gazing in the large backyard. This home offers a 1st floor bedroom with king size bed. Upstairs there is a bedroom with a king bed, and a bedroom with a queen. The kitchen and dining room flow through to the living room.

The cottage features high ceilings and an open floor plan, with a small deck looking into the woods The walls are decorated with original art work by the owner. Our location is central to the island, situated just outside the village of Somesville; 15 minutes to Bar Harbor, 10 minutes to Southwest Harbor by car. Hiking and swimming opportunities are just 5 minutes away by car. The Arthaus is not suitable for pets, despite our love for them.

Moss Mountain Cottage sits on five wooded acres where you can relax after a long day of hiking, biking, or sightseeing. We are centrally located - a short drive from Acadia National Park, the villages of Mount Desert Island, Indian Point Blagden Preserve, Kebo Valley golf course, Long Pond, Echo Lake, Pirate's Cove mini-golf, as well as several restaurants featuring fresh seafood and locally brewed beer and wine. This 3 bedroom 3.5 bath home (each bedroom with its own full bathroom) is situated in a private, wooded setting on the edge of Southwest Harbor's bustling village. It’s close to several Acadia National Park access points (Long Pond and Echo Lake are both within a 5 minute drive). This home offers extra wide doorways accomodating those with mobility issues.
