If you like to stay somewhere with soul and character and warmth, then this will delight you. Secluded, with private garden on all sides, it’s only a few minutes’ walk to the centre of Castlemaine. Have you fantasied about living in a small country town? We did! Newstead and it's community captured our hearts. The region has cute historical gold rush towns to explore. Popular annual festivals such as the Newstead Short Story Tattoo (a literary celebration), Newstead Live (rooted in folk), All British Motorcycle Rally, close to the Maldon Folk festival. Think great coffee, gourmet pizzas, art & wildlife. We’re interested in the world around us & we’re welcoming & unpretentious.

Union House c.1861

Union House is a unique part of Castlemaine's history. Built in the early 1860's in the central area of the town, it is a minutes walk from all the town's attractions- the galleries, restaurants, hotels, theatre, boutiques, supermarket, and easy walking distance to the gardens, regional parks, railway station, and the Woollen Mill complex. The cottage has been recently renovated to amalgamate its historic features with contemporary comforts and luxurious appointments.

Henry's Cottage

Redesdale is a wonderful little country town with everything you need at hand to make your stay comfortable and relaxed. A,cafe, a pub and a general store all in walking distance from the cottage. The cottage is lovely and light filled, charmingly decorated with modern conviniences. Beautiful views of the surrounding area and friendly locals to offer advice and great food if you choose to eat at their venues. This place is a gem and just a short drive from Melbourne.

Red Brick Barn Chewton

Red Brick Barn overlooks Forest Creek and surrounding Goldfields heritage bushland. A walking track is at the door for a lovely walk to Wesley hill Saturday market or continue on to explore nearby Castlemaine with it's wonderful Architecture and vibrant café and arts culture. Red Brick Barn is an eclectic mix of European and Early Australian antiques, including French Industrial Furniture and Lighting, Turkish Kilims from Anatolia and rare "Depression" pieces.

Central Studio Apartment with great views

This self-contained studio is tucked below our house. It's a totally separate and private space, air conditioned, double glazed and with its own off-street parking and access. It is within walking distance to the town centre, The Mill Complex, The Bridge Hotel and the Botanic Gardens; and just a 7 min walk up the hill from the railway station. Enjoy fabulous views to the east from the lounge, bedroom and your private balcony across the town to Mt Alexander.

Ukamirra - bush setting, magical views

Our lovely stone cottage is set on 6 acres of secluded native Australian bushland. The stone cottage is positioned on top of the hill in the heart of Chewton Bushlands and provides amazing views across to Mount Macedon and Mount Franklin. Enjoy your days and evenings looking out to the view. During summer spend the evenings enjoying the stars eating a BBQ dinner at the outdoor setting and in winter on those cold nights snug up in the front of the fire.
