This home is located in a quiet neighborhood and a quiet town close to the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge which provides birding, and beautiful views. There are many other interesting sites within a short drive; the perfect getaway.

Pecan Cabin

The Pecan Cabin is in the middle of a pecan orchard. It is built out of pecan wood. There is much wildlife around the cabin. We often see deer, wild turkeys, armadillo, squirrels, hawks, racoon, and coyote. It is very quiet and peaceful. A great place for star gazing. This is a working pecan orchard. You may see us, mowing, pruning and generally taking care of the trees. There is no hunting on this property. The land is leased for hunting, but they do not hunt in the pecan grove.

When we decided to updated this loft apartment in 2021 we know that we wanted to stay true to its origins by reusing all the original doors and most of the trim. It sits above a woman's clothing boutique in a small downtown of a rural Oklahoma community. There is a restaurant directly across the street and the local watering hole (The Thirsty Buffalo) is just a few doors down.
