Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Kawakawa Hut with outdoor “crystal” bath

A small but special little place tucked neatly between rolling hills. Kawakawa Hut provides a simple but comfy getaway for two in a beautiful countryside. Close by lies the vegetable garden, and friendly cows graze just over the fence. Further out over surrounding farmland you can see Tongariros snow capped mountains in the distance, so sit back and enjoy. Surrounded by natives & nestled upon the hillside with expansive views overlooking our farm & the Valley below, this is a space to sit back & enjoy. Our Tiny House is off grid. It has double glazing, a mini fireplace, toilet with vanity in add-on bathroom off the deck, large porch area for dining and 2 outdoor baths for soaking in the views. A country escape located 4km’s up the Pahiatua Track. Approximately 8-10 minute drive to the outskirts of town, Massey University, the IPU Tertiary Institute and to our local Summerhill shopping centre with a supermarket, takeaways, laundry, café’s and restaurants. Palmerston North's CBD is about 13 km's. Your private entrance leads to a guest suite attached to our house with a lounge, separate double and single bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchenette with basic supplies for preparing meals.

Historic Shearers Quarters Warm and Toasty

The Historic Shearers Quarters are located 11 kms from SH1, on a working farm that has remained in the family for four generations. We are based in the beautiful Kawhatau Valley. A unique accommodation in the heart of the Rangitikei. Light the old shacklock stove, sit back and enjoy peace and quiet- all while only 10 mins from the superb Dukes Roadhouse Cafe. Please note this is a Historic Shearer's Quarters. If you have mobility issues please be aware there are no ramps and only steps.

Located on State Highway 1... 2 hours south of Taupo, 2 hours north of Wellington & 1 hour to Ohakune. Enjoy a wine on the deck looking out at the operating sheep and beef farm. Our restored shearers quarters are modern, warm, bright and comfortable. Double glazed, fireplace, insulated, infinity gas and beautifully decorated. We have free Wifi. ChromeCast on the TV. It is private with modern furniture, a well equipped kitchen with alpacas and emus just outside. You can feed the alpacas. Plenty of parking space.
