Relaxing private bush retreat Cottage Rustigue

Rustigue is a play of words: ‘rustig’ is Dutch for tranquil; the style of the cottage is ‘rustic’ with a combination of all things to love: old, new, done up. The cottage is surrounded by rimu trees, native bush and ferns. It is well away from the main house and has its own driveway, so you have total privacy. Sept 25 | The store has just had some upgrades to make your stay more comfortable while still in keeping with an upcycled rustic shed on a rural property 3km from Matakana - ply interior, concrete floors covered with jute rugs and kilims, and a covered outdoor space to relax and bbq. A rustic country theme which will not suit guests wanting new and modern. Our linen bedding, hand loomed cotton towels, handmade ceramics and Real World products add some luxury. We have Starlink to enjoy Netflix

Boutique accomodation minutes from the village. Room @ No Two is a private guest room and en-suite. It has gorgeous sun and relaxing views overlooking lush green countryside. You’ll also have your own seated outside area which catches the late afternoon sun, this is a lovely place to relax and unwind.

We are 15 mins drive on sealed roads to amenities in both Mangawhai and Wellsford, 8 mins to the Te Arai surf beach turnoff and 12 minutes to the Te Arai Links course.

The Little Guest House, Matakana

The little guest house is warm, clean and sunny. Enjoy the comfy queen bed and fresh cotton linens. A lovely fully equipped modern cottage in a rural setting on the beautiful Kaipara Harbour (only 90 mins north of Auckland). Peaceful and private, you can lounge on the bean bags on the deck, or watch the tui as you soak in the bath. Native bush runs down to an estuary outside your floor to ceiling windows. Sheep, dogs, ducks and birdlife share the property with you as well as the occassional peacock harem.

Hengleigh Studio

Hengleigh Studio is self-contained, located separately from our house, on a small lifestyle block, surrounded by a variety of top tourist attractions. The property is all flat, with a rural outlook, complete with a pond, sheep, fruit trees, and a private area to relax. Please note, it is not suitable for children, and there is 1 queen sized bed, with no room for any extra beds.
