Hockey Hut

Hockey Hut is a cosy, clean, self contained and comfortable hut it has everything you need for a cosy stay. We offer a variety of cereals, breads, tea and coffee for breakfast. Franz Josef township is a 10 minute walk away or a 2 minute drive. Relax and enjoy the beautiful native surroundings. We are at the far end of Cron street, straight past the hot pools, then past the medical centre until you see our red Maori Pau (red carving) then turn right up our drive. We are 116 Cron street.

Cosy Mountain Cabin with Barrel Sauna Fox Glacier

A peaceful little retreat nestled near the base of the Southern Alps mountains on a 100-acre farm within walking distance to the heart of Fox Glacier township - perfect for couples and solo travellers looking for a cosy and comfortable stay. The space features a double bed, tea and coffee-making facilities and a porch with fire pit. The bathroom is a short walk away and is shared with other guests from the second pod. Guests also have complimentary access to our Panoramic Outdoor Barrel Sauna.

This new modern, fully equipped home is located a short 5 minute drive from the local village. As you step outside, you'll be greeted by breathtaking views of the majestic surrounding mountains. Whether you're looking to relax & unwind or embark on outdoor adventures, this is the ideal starting point for exploring the wonders of Glacier Country. Hiking trails & local attractions are all within easy reach, promising an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

The Tower, Okarito

The Tower is a comfortable two storey, seperate building with an upstairs bedroom with ensuite bathroom. It has excellent views of the sea and the Southern Alps. A warm, cosy and quiet space with a private garden. Free Wifi (system fully upgraded August 2021) Downstairs is the living room / kitchenette area. Upstairs and downstairs are connected by external stairs (see photos). Awesome outdoor bath - great for stargazing (new Aug 22). There are balconies on three sides of the tower.

Wildside Lodge

OFF-GRID, UP-CYCLED tiny-house. No WiFi - so SWITCH OFF and RELAX! COSY and ROMANTIC fire heats water (need to be able to light fire safely). Rustic and uniquely HANDCRAFTED, native and recycled. Misty Peaks Guesthouse has 5 ensuite bedrooms with super King size beds (all beds can be spilt into singles if required please advise in advance) and 1 room is a twin that has a separate bathroom. From Misty peaks you will be able to see Rainforest covered hills and Mt cook and Mt Tasman from your kitchen window and also from 3 of the bedrooms. All bedrooms have heating and all beds are fitted with electric blankets.

Te Awa Cottages is only a 2 minute drive from Franz Josef township, situated just off State Highway 6 on our private property, a short walk from the Tatare River, and surrounded by stunning views of the snow covered Main Divide and Melchior Glacier, and our handful of sheep and cattle. Free wifi, air conditioner & heat pump and plenty of parking space right outside your cottage.
