The Conductors' Cottage is a converted railway house that offers beautifully furnished accommodation for up to six guests. Set in the grounds of the main farmhouse, there are three cottages in total. The Conductor's Cottage has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, lounge & outside deck area to enjoy. There are views of the hills of Mpumalanga Province as you sit on the verandah. We are a working farm with resident sheep, geese & pigs. We also have four boxer dogs that are part of the family

You can hear the birds chirping all day long and fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle. Try to spot the owls & bushbabys wich are often sitting in the jacaranda trees around you.

Lowveld Farmhouse in Magical Forest Garden

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Built in the late 1950's the renovated Lowveld farmhouse is the place to take it easy. The wide stoep looks into a lush, mostly indigenous subtropical garden. The nearby irrigation canal provides a peaceful backdrop of sound as the water gurgles past. Everything on the property, from the food we grow to how we live, work and generate electricity is based on being environmentally sustainable. We are completely off-grid, no power or water cuts!

This is a self catering, fully airconditioned house, let as a unit, you will need to bring everything in the way of food and toiletries with you (towels and bedding are provided). We have an inverter system, to enable lighting, during load shedding. There are 2 stores, the Bush Center and Marlothi Shopping center, with fuel. Kick back and relax at our unique little bushveld spot. Sit around the fire at night listening to the hippo and nightjars calling with a crystal clear canopy of stars above. You’ll be woken by franklin and purple crested louries coming to feed at first light, followed by a cacophony of Lowveld birds including resident fish eagles. Walk down to the river, and enjoy sundowners and snacks on the rocks with spectacular sunset views to the Drakensburg mountains in the distance.
