The Old Town Landing: Lakefront Retreat (Unit 300)

George’s place was perfect. On the shores of the frozen Great Slave Lake with a large top floor balcony and facing the warm afternoon sun it was the perfect place to stay. We saw the Aurora on almost every night from our own balcony. Restaurants and bars all close by. The Old Town is definitely the place to stay rather than the downtown hotels. I will definitely be coming back and anyone wanting to see the Aurora and enjoy Yellowknife should seriously consider staying here. It was perfect. Thanks George

The Forrest Retreat - Private Guest Suite

Our flight arrived to Yellowknife pretty late so we took a taxi to get to Claire’s Airbnb, it’s very easy to find and got in easily with the passcode. The moment we stepped in side the house I knew I found another great Airbnb again. Everything was as described and the house is very clean and spacious for two of us. The pellets heater was awesome. The host Claire & James are super nice to us. Overall it was a great experience staying at Claire & James’s house! I definitely recommend this Airbnb to everyone!

Docked Houseboat (rare waterfront in popular area)

Well-designed home and fantastic location right on Back Bay. X-country skied on the track 20 meters from the house. Great spot to see the aurora, walk to kick-sledding and great restaurants. Highly recommend this outstanding airbnb.

Excelente opción en Old Town. El lugar es incluso mejor de lo que se aprecia en las fotos. A unos pasos del Bush pilot’s Monument. En invierno, puedes tener acceso caminando sobre el lago a las Cuevas de Hielo. Si vuelvo a Yellowknife, en definitiva buscaría que fuera a esta ubicación. Muchas gracias, Shea!

Greenhaven Guesthouse Downtown! Sleeps up to 6!

Erin was very responsive and accommodating during our stay. Strangely enough, we arrived to our Air BnB during an unusual city-wide power-outage that lasted for a couple hours. Erin re-assured us the problem would be fixed soon and even went out of her way to provide us with extra flashlights and phone chargers just in case. Luckily, the power came back before we had to use these items. Erin was always quick to answer any questions we had during our stay in Yellowknife. We had several Q &A sessions with her and really appreciated all the information and recommendations she provided. It made our stay a lot simpler. The accommodations were very comfortable with plenty of room for our party (3 adults/2 teens). Conveniently located, it was easy to get around town and to all our excursions. We look forward to having Erin host us again in the future. Mark & Teresa

"There were seven of us who shared the home (10B) and we really appreciated the size, kitchen and overall condition of the home. We were all able to congregate at the dining table eating and playing cards, and the kitchen enabled us to prepare good food and snacks for the entire stay. We really liked the music-playing refrigerator and other amenities and appliances of the house. The back porch was a delight as a fox visited us and stayed for a while, it was also a great place to see the Northern Lights. We were a little warm the whole time and couldn't really find a way to turn down the heat except to open a window. The television required a little knowledge of rocket science in order to get it to work, but luckily we had a rocket scientist with us. Most of us will no longer patronize AirBnB because of their support of the current administration in the USA.

See Aurora and lake from EVERY room! (2bd 2bth)

If you are going to Yellowknife to see the Aurora Borealis, go dog sledding, check out the boreal forest, or just to hang out and relax, this is the perfect place to stay. It is clean, roomy, and quiet. It has a great deck that affords wonderful views. The neighborhood is nice and walkable and located in a great part of town to start your adventures. This is not a negative at all, but just information: there are a few steps to get to the door and a few inside. Not many, but if you have mobility issues, that is a consideration. The apartment was well stocked with essential supplies and it has awesome artwork throughout. The two bedrooms are far enough apart from each other so that there is privacy for each one (one is en suite and the other has a bathroom nearby). The kitchen is easy to cook in, with lots of counter space. Tamar provided good information and answered my questions promptly. Check in instructions were clear. In case you can’t tell, I highly recommend this place!
