We really enjoyed our stay at Kari's place! it does look exactly as described and totally worth staying there. It is not far from the Mines of Spain and Galena and it felt great to stay in such historic building.

The listing was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The host was responsive and made check-in seamless. A standout feature was the unique barn in the backyard, adding charm and character to the whole experience. The location was ideal, close to Galena yet quiet and serene, making it easy to unwind. Overall, everything was thoughtfully provided. Highly recommend this gem for a memorable stay—I’d love to come back again!

We came to St. Donatus to do the outdoor stations of the cross on Good Friday and we stayed through Easter. The whole family had so much fun. My husband and I liked hanging out in the barn, because we could grab a drink for ourselves and our girls could get some pop and play board games with us. There was enough variety of both drinks and games for everyone! My girls commented on how comfortable the beds were, and they enjoyed bathing in the claw foot tub. We went to dinner across the street on Friday night, and they were having a seafood buffet for Good Friday. It was delicious. We will definitely plan to visit again when the weather is warmer and we can do more activities outdoors. Kari and Don were great hosts!

My partner and I had a wonderful stay here! Bill welcomed us warmly and provided helpful recommendations for the area. Great location a short walk from Main Street. The room was clean and we enjoyed sitting by the fire after our adventure, imagining who had been sitting there nearly 200 years before us.

Excellent place to stay! Vey comfortable large room and bathroom with jetted tub. Best part was breakfast. Best pancakes I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t even call them pancakes, they r something else. Thanks for being such a great host Paul. My wife and I would love to come back and will be recommending your place to friends and family for sure.

We had an amazing stay. it was clean, cozy, and quiet. Paul made us feel right at home immediately and is very kind. The breakfast was great; warm and fresh. Everything included in this b&b plus being able to walk around the amazing town of Galena made it an amazing trip for us and we definitely will be visiting again.

This bed and breakfast is a must-stay! We thoroughly enjoyed the history lesson that accompanied the tour of the home. Renovations that have been done are beautiful, food was excellent, and the hosts were fantastic! The location is in good proximity to downtown attractions but far enough away to relax ans unwind. We will definitely be back!

The property is beautiful. Miriam had great communication with us through the whole experience. She even went the extra mile and went and got some cake and ice cream for my mother to help me celebrate her birthday. Breakfast was great, and Miriam was overall a very kind and accommodating host. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable and so was the shared space. It was wonderful to sit out on the deck and there were a lot of seating options. Very close to restaurants and amenities in town. In fact, within walking distance!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Paul was very hospitable and the place was cozy and very accommodating. We felt right at home. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous and we loved the historic feel of the building. If we’re in galena again, we’ll be back.

Our stay at the Aldrich Guest House was absolutely amazing! Both Robert and Douglas were kind and helpful with local recommendations. The room and house were beautiful and very clean, and the breakfast was phenomenal! I would recommend anyone coming to Galena to stay here!
