Griffin - The Lake Superior Riverboat

Channel your inner Mark Twain. Read, rock, and relax on the water, at the foot of a retired Northern Pacific Ore dock. The Griffin is a functioning riverboat, driven by paddle wheels, originally modeled after historic Mississippi steamboats. It is located at a mom and pop boat yard, which is quite different from a fancy marina. Work happens here. Metal is welded here. Engines are torn apart and put back together here. Nestled on the border of Jay Cooke State Park(~15 min from Duluth), you will be surrounded by nature and wildlife, sheltered by the canvas ‘yurt’ and enjoy the night sky in a cozy bed. Located a short ~1/4 mile hike from your parking spot, there is a shared porta-potty (~150 yrds away, but NO running water or shower), a small solar powered battery providing lights/limited power. This rental is NOT heated. Guests supply necessary water for their stay.
