Luxury by the lake

A new summerhouse, based on the beautiful lakefront of lake Meðalfellsvatn, Iceland. Only 40 minutes drive from Reykjavik. Sleeps 6 adults, or a family of 6 people. It has all the equipment a house needs. A spacious living room, a kitchen. Two big beedrooms, and a smaller bedroom. Double beds. Two bathrooms, master bathroom with a bathtub, and a bathroom with shower. A “Mancave” on the patio outside. A hottub. We are situated in the middle of the NORTHERN LIGHTS district for the winter months.

Lakefront cottage + jacuzzi

Entering our wonderful front lakeside cottage you’ll first be struck by it’s beautiful surrounding nature. Not far from Reykjavik, but also far enough that you see more of the natural beauty of Iceland. The lake is crystal clear and in this exact spot of the lake the mountains frequently block the wind which turns the lake mirror-smooth which is amazing to see especially with the sunset and northern lights, so you can enjoy the experience even further we include a paddleboard in the booking

The cottage is family-owned and is located in beautiful and peaceful surroundings next to Medalfellsvatn Lake with spectacular views over the lake. The cottage is located near Reykjavik, about 30-40 minute drive from Reykjavik. It is ideally situated amongst Iceland's most popular attractions. Many of the attractions are within 1 one-hour drive from the cottage, e.g. the Þingvellir National Park, which is on the way to Gullfoss and Geysir. Hot tub available upon request for €15 per day.

Gunnu Hús by Meðalfellsvatn ( Our lakeside cottage nestles at the foot of Medalfell mountain and the garden leads right down to the lake. The views are spectacular, of the lake and its surrounding mountain scape; it is a place of pure tranquility. It has 3 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and sitting room. It has a large double bedroom, and small double bedroom and a room with a bunk bed. It is well known and often listed as one of the most scenic and lovely summer cottages in Iceland.

View the sunset over the lake or see the Aurora Borealis, when the conditions are right, from the deck wrapping around the house or even from the hot tub. Cosy lakeview cabin 45 minutes from Reykjavik

A lakeside cabin at the foot of Medalfell mountain with direct access to the lake. A peaceful place with a beautiful lakeview where you can relax to the gentle sounds of the water. On the terrace is a barrel sauna with a beautiful view over the lake. The surrounding area is full of nature and a good starting point for little hikes. Good location for day trips to Snæfellsnes and the Golden Circle. During the winter time is a good chance of seeing the Northern lights (Aurora Borealis).

Nýbyggt smáhýsi nálægt hinu fallega og eftirsótta Meðalfellsvatni. Staðsett í Kjós nálægt Hvalfirði eða í 20 mínútna keyrslu frá Þingvöllum og 30 mínútna keyrslu frá Reykjavík. Einnig aðeins 15 mínútna keyrsla að Hvammsvík hot spring. Hér færðu sveitasælu í íslenskri náttúrufegurð en ert samt örstutt frá miðborginni og gullna hringnum. Fullkomin staðsetning. Rafmagn, heitt og kalt vatn og hiti í gólfinu er í húsinu.

Peaceful cottage by a pond close to Reykjavík

Our cozy cottage is very secluded but still with easy access. Only 45 km (40 min.) from Reykjavík it´s a perfect hub for day trips to the city and nearby attractions.
