Gateway Cottage. Historic Homeplace+Mountain Views

We have some surprises for you at Gateway Cottage! We hope you'll come share them. It's the historic homeplace for a family of seven who lived here for 100 years. It's now a blend of farmhouse and contemporary. This cottage is also a blend of country and town, with plenty of space to spread out, relax, walk our 3 acres, view mountains, and watch the deer. Need something you might have at home? I bet we've thought of it! You'll be surprised to find how well-equipped Gateway Cottage is.

Features: hot tub, outdoor dining area, small kitchenette amenities, and smart-tv w/firestick (must use your hotspot to stream). 10 min to BR Parkway, Peaks of Otter, and Claytor Nature Center. Wineries, orchards, and hiking nearby. Friendly dogs may occasionally visit from my mother’s house next door. (Look for Wind Tides Farm sign). ***If booking in winter months, keep in mind the wind tends to be heavy, depending on weather.***

Built in 1939 as a fishing cabin by a gentleman who incorporated box cars as rafters and beams, dates still visible since removing the attic. By far the best place I've ever lived. I decided to share it with others who love to explore, who love listening to the voice of the creek or who come just to sit on the porch high above the creek with a spouse, friend, family, or alone. Otterview Mountain House

Otterview has one of the most incredible views in the state, huge deck, and pond. The house is open format with 3 bedrooms, a top of the line kitchen, cozy living room, and extraordinary great room. Look out at the Peaks of Otter, enjoy incredible sunrises and sunsets. You are welcome to grill out on the Blackstone, enjoy the firepit, and relax on the dock. There is two miles of trails on the 37 acre property with their own trail signs and map.

Falling waters is off the grid, has a comfy bed, stays cool during the Summer, & is fully heated with propane in the Winter!
