Stone's Throw Cottage, a charming retreat

The Stone’s Throw Cottage is a historic home in the beautiful Sierra foothills. Built in the 1940’s by a local stonemason, Stone’s Throw Cottage was renovated in 2018/2019. Located just outside the Auburn city limits, it's in a semi-rural area, but only 5 mins to historic Auburn. Situated on 1/2 acre, it’s quiet, private & charming. Close to hiking, the wine trail, craft breweries, dining, galleries and coffee shops, this is a peaceful retreat or home base to explore everything our area offers.

Peaceful Cottage - 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms

Our comfortable and quiet guest cottage is set among Ponderosa pines in the Sierra Nevada foothills, 15 minutes from more than 40 Shenandoah Valley wineries. Private tastings can be arranged. The pool is private to our guests and usually open after Memorial Day. About 50 mins to ski areas. The Cottage easily accommodates 2 couples in two bedrooms, each with private bathroom. EV charging is available - additional fee. The deck is great for outside dining or just enjoying a glass of wine.

The Romantic Riverfront Studio has a spectacular view through a large sliding glass door, a deck overlooking the water, a full kitchen and an outhouse with flushing toilet. There is a king sized bed and futon. You can walk to the Gold discovery state park, go whitewater rafting, sip wine at our award winning wineries or just hang out and relax. The original miners shack was fully renovated by a designer/builder team to create this creek side escape. This 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom retreat is located in the heart of Apple Hill within walking distance to Barsotti's, Delfino Farms and Lava Cap Winery. Immerse yourself in the tranquil, creek side setting as you relax in the private hot tub.

We are located in the California Gold Country, close enough for day trips to San Francisco, Napa, rafting on the American River, and even Yosemite. . You’ll love my place because of the tranquil country feel. We are perfectly situated if you are in town for any of the Rancho Murieta Equestrian events and just a quick drive up to Sutter Creek or Calavaras Big Trees.
