Rather shabby but full of character & very cosy. Port Carlisle has a faded splendour - built on the site of a fishing village, for a brief time it was a major port serving Carlisle, with its own canal & later a railway; in the 1850s the Firth silted up so ships could no longer get in. Birdwatchers, walkers, fans of history, dogs will love it!

This wonderfully equipped 6 bedroom Victorian terraced house with stunning original features is located a stones throw from the top of Bassenthwaite lake in the Lake District with beautiful views over Sale Fell. It’s perfect for families looking for great access to the Lake District. It’s a short walk to the famous Pheasant Inn, across the road from Bassenthwaite lake and the Sailing Club and a short drive to the Lakes Distillery. Please note that we do not accept large adult only groups.
