Welcome to the Bingham House, a newly restored 1922 bungalow located on a quiet street in downtown Appomattox, VA. This historic home is only a short walk from the shops & restaurants on Main Street and just a few steps from Courtland Field. Only 5 minutes from Appomattox Historical Park, 25 mins to Lynchburg, and 1 hour from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Guests can relax & enjoy the rocking chairs & porch swing on the covered front porch. The home is stocked with games, books, TV's, wifi & more.

Scott School Cottage Stay at Scott School

Scott School was a Campbell County one-room school from 1905 to 1928. In 2010, Scott School was renovated and serves as a lovely tea room and quiet location for guests. The cottage is complete with two bedrooms (one twin, one full), central HVAC, full kitchen, and televisions. Points of interest nearby are: Red Hill-last home and burial place of Patrick Henry (5 miles), University of Lynchburg (30 miles), Liberty University (25 miles), Randolph College (30 miles), and Appomattox (22 miles).

A fabulous getaway with the comforts of home. The cottage is unique with loft bedroom, huge deck and fire pit. Recently internet access has been added The field is perfect for ballgames, disc golf or star gazing. The creek will lure you in. A catfish pond waits over the hill. With miles of trails, the Bluff is a perfect place for botany or photography or plain old serenity. Note: there’s no TV, children must be supervised at all times and alcohol/tobacco/etc are not allowed on the property.

Rustic Cabin on 350+ acres at Hat Creek

This charming rustic cabin is located at Hat Creek Camp, a 350+ acre camp with over 7 miles of hiking trails and two lakes. The cabin has three rooms, a bedroom, bathroom, and common space/kitchen. The kitchen includes a stove, fridge, blender, coffee maker, and microwave. The bedroom has a Queen bed, and the bathroom has a spacious shower. This cabin is small but very personable, around the camp it is affectionately known as The Pickle. Perfect for quiet getaways in the country.

100acre Woods Cabin Retreat

No Smoking in home, No animals or pets allowed! 30 mi to Lynchburg, 11 to Altavista. This cabin boasts 100 acres of serene nature while hiking the trails, and with just a 20 minute hike you can be at the boat slip, fishing, and swimming in the river . Relax on the large rocking chair front porch with your honey on the porch swing, or roast marshmallows and sip drinks around the fire pit! This is not a party house, it is meant to relax and enjoy peace, quiet, and nature, enjoy!

The farmhouse is a wonderful destination for those looking for a quiet place to stay in a farm setting. Surrounded by hayfields, cow pastures, and mature hardwood trees, this third generation home, dating back to 1919, provides ample space for guests to relax and enjoy themselves. Recently renovated using wood cut from the property and farmhouse style decor (Joanna Gaines inspired), this home is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

18th Century Cabin Retreat

Come enjoy our 18th century cabin! They don't make them like this anymore. One side built in 1750, the other in 1825. Sit under the giant white oak and enjoy the country air. This is a wonderful retreat to kick back and relax. Enjoy the pool, horseshoes, and fire pit. In the winter months, cozy up by the wood stove or fire place with gas logs. NO PETS!!! Please do not bring your pets. Owners live on site, so if you are in need of anything, please ask!

Hill of Beans

One bedroom, basement apartment in well kept house. The apartment is furnished with antiques and set on the corner of a farm with good views. The apartment has a private entrance and parking just outside the door. We are a retired but active couple who live upstairs. The kitchen has a Keurig coffee maker and is stocked with coffee, tea, coffee fixings, snacks, and light breakfast items. We are 25 minutes to downtown Lynchburg and 20 minutes to Appomattox.

A Perfect Country Getaway

Heron Hill 49 is a place for people who want to unplug, get away, and appreciate the quiet of country life. It’s an ideal space to relax or to work without distractions. Fiber optic internet is provided; cell service is limited. (We recommend wi-fi calling.) Guests will enjoy walking the property, following Spring Creek, and exploring the remains of an old, hand-built stone dam in the woods. Birdwatchers will find an abundance of species.

Three miles from Dominos, Subway, Hardees, Courthouse Cafe, La Carretta, and Long Mountain Grill. Another great local spot includes The Colonial Restaurant. In addition, you are only two miles from Food Lion. Our house is private and easy to get to. We live on a main road. Getting in and out are a breeze.
