Really enjoyed our weekend away, great communication from the start. Quite and quirky cottage, so peaceful even though it's on a road, this wasn't a problem for us.. The hot tub was amazing.. A great extra to the weekend...☺️☺️

We had a wonderful stay at The Granary. The setting is exceptional and you feel like you’re in a historic hamlet in the middle of beautiful, peaceful countryside. The hosts were great, leaving us to our own devices but on hand and responsive if needed. The Granary has been expertly restored as have the other historical buildings on site and the grounds are beautifully presented. We had everything we needed in the property. We would highly recommend booking a stay. Don’t forget your swim wear - the pool and jacuzzi are fantastic!

Had a great time at the Wisteria Lodge - very clean, hosts were very friendly and was perfect for a quiet getaway from the city. Would recommend!

We stayed for 4 nights in April 2025, 2 adults and 2 children (9 and 13). Fabulous stay, the cottage is lovely and tucked away from the road. The hot tub was a big hit and made the stay that little bit more amazing! Excellent host and a lovely cottage, we will be back.

We had a lovely stay for our mini moon with our dog. The cottage was beautiful and peaceful with everything we needed. The hot tub was on and ready for when we got there and we were even given fresh bread and eggs for breakfast. Even though the owners lived right next door we were left to enjoy our stay with no disruptions. The location was ideal with amazing walks nearby and plenty of pubs within a short distance. We can’t recommend this cottage enough. Thank you so much for having us.

This is such a lovely cottage and we really enjoyed our stay. We loved the pool room and had complete privacy throughout our stay. We stayed at Badger’s Den for the bank holiday weekend. What a great place! The grounds are beautiful and well kept, the pool and spa facilities are fantastic and the cottage itself is equipped with everything you could possibly need for a weekend away. The location is peaceful and away from everything but you are close enough to the town if you need anything. Chris is a great host and couldn’t be more helpful, on hand with great recommendations to spend the weekend. We will definitely be back again

The cottage is lovely, spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything we needed and more. All the little extra touches made us ( and Penny the pooch ) feel right at home. The large bed was extremely comfortable. The location is beautiful and peaceful with a very short walk the beach. Alex was very quick to respond to messages and his instructions were very clear, check in was very easy. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back again in the future.

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad en door het mooie weer vooral in de tuin gezeten. Met onze hond hebben we mooie wandelingen gemaakt op en rond de Cissbury Ring. Met de auto ben je daar in 10 minuten. Een dagje Londen met de trein is ook prima te doen.

The house is very pleasant and welcoming, and we instantly felt at home. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare and cook meals, which is very useful as this part of Sussex, and Alfriston itself, has really good quality food available. The sitting room and bedrooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. The village of Alfriston is also beautiful, with at least 4 good pubs and restaurants, and a simple walk around the Tye beside the river and church is wonderful.

We recently stayed at this lovely cottage from December 29th to January 1st, and we can’t recommend it highly enough! The cottage was well-maintained, super cosy, and felt like a perfect little escape. Here are some of the highlights: Location The cottage is right on the edge of the South Downs, and waking up to those fantastic views every morning was such a treat. It’s also conveniently close to Newhaven for shopping, with reliable and frequent public transport options. We rented a car for part of our stay, and while parking near the cottage can be a bit tight for larger vehicles (as the listing clearly mentions), it wasn’t a major issue for us. One of the things we loved most was the tranquillity—you could hear nothing at night, which was such a refreshing change. If you’re visiting in winter, don’t forget your boots for those beautiful South Downs walks! The Bowery is a gem! The house itself has everything you need, cosy, spotlessly clean and we loved the very welcoming touches with the delicious homemade preserves and prosecco. We had our 15 month old with us and the toys and baby equipment really made our stay so easy with him. The garden is a haven - we were fortunate to have amazing weather and made the most of sitting out (our little boy had a dream ready made playground!) listening to the church bells and saying hello to the cats. Lots of nearby walks directly from the house and a handy waitrose and small tesco too. The Bowery is a great base to further explore the beautiful south downs. Thank you!

4 night stay at Joys place and loved every minute. Lambs in the rear field, great gardens, log burner and pub 100 meters away !!! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

What a fabulous place to stay on a Gloriously sunny April weekend! The house was spotless and the hosts had literally thought of everything to make us feel at home and have a lovely stay. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We loved our stay at Ruth's place. Ruth made us feel very welcome and the house was exactly as described. It's hort walk to local bars and only 2 minutes to the beach. We'll be back for sure.

Logement totalement conforme à ce que nous avions vu sur l annonce. Au calme, proche de la mer. Seule remarque, les prix dans la region sont quand même très élevés et pas sûr de bien comprendre pourquoi ? Le ligement de sharon etant quand même un des moins chers.

The cottage exceeded our expectations: it's a bright and airy modern living space while warm and cosy with tons of old-world charm. The house is perfectly peaceful and quiet with a nice wee garden situated beside a lovely walking route / bridle path, so we felt nicely secluded from the world (although neighbours were very friendly when we came across them). Our hosts were very helpful and responsive (thanks, Liz!) and the welcome pack was second to none - arriving to find the makings of a cream tea set out on the table was a rare treat. Lewes is a 10-min drive and the cottage was a great base for exploring East Sussex and a little of Kent. We'd highly recommend Church Cottage and hope to stay there again some day.

Our second time staying at Jenny's cottage which is immaculately presented and has everything you could want for a cosy stay! On both occasions we were able to park right outside the cottage which was super convenient. We're also big fans of the local Italian restaurant Mamma Mia, as well as the record store Slipped Discs!

We absolutely loved our stay at Beth's place in Keymer, the place itself lived up to and exceeded our expectations. It was spotlessly clean, extremely well appointed and was stocked with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Beth even provided some welcoming goodies which included local produce and a chilled bottle of wine! The cottage had plenty of room for our family of four, and we all slept brilliantly in our very comfy beds. The view out of the double room windows was of the South Downs and was picturesque. Location wise it was ideal for us, as we used Hassocks station to get around and it was just a 10 minute walk away with links to Brighton and Worthing. The Greyhound pub was just down the road and we enjoyed a pint and a game of pool there on the Friday evening, the locals were out in full force but they were very welcoming. All in all a superb and memorable stay, we would certainly like to come back for a return visit in the future. Thank you Beth

The house was wonderful. Peaceful, quiet, beautifully furnished and right next door to a farm shop! Vincent was quickly responsive to our one request and got us a caffetiere very quickly after we asked for it. We were greeted by Alison as we arrived. We needed a base that would enable us to meet up with family members in Brighton and Lewes, whilst accommodating our two small dogs. Alison’s place was perfect for our requirements and had everything we needed. We had some spare time and followed the recommended walking route to the White Lion pub. The walk was lovely and the pub was very friendly. Accommodation was comfortable and clean with nice countryside views and surroundings. Everything worked as it should and we enjoyed our stay.
