It's now a blend of farmhouse and contemporary. This cottage is also a blend of country and town, with plenty of space to spread out, relax, walk our 3 acres, view mountains, and watch the deer. Need something you might have at home? I bet we've thought of it! You'll be surprised to find how well-equipped Gateway Cottage is.

Welcome to Glen Forest! Enjoy this private, terrace level apartment in a lovely, quiet park-like setting just minutes from Lynchburg. Relax at the fire pit in the Glen or your private patio. Feel right at home with full kitchen with dishwasher, access to W/D for week long stays, and several nearby restaurants/services, colleges and tourist sites: LC 9 miles, LU 11, RC 12, Poplar Forest-4, D-Day Memorial 20, Peaks of Otter- 24. Features: hot tub, outdoor dining area, small kitchenette amenities, and smart-tv w/firestick (must use your hotspot to stream). 10 min to BR Parkway, Peaks of Otter, and Claytor Nature Center. Wineries, orchards, and hiking nearby. Friendly dogs may occasionally visit from my mother’s house next door. (Look for Wind Tides Farm sign). ***If booking in winter months, keep in mind the wind tends to be heavy, depending on weather.***

Woody’s is only 30 minutes from Madison Heights and 37 minutes from downtown Lynchburg.

10 minutes from the heart of Smith Mountain Lake “Bridgewater”, 15 minutes from Blue Ridge Parkway. Come enjoy this cozy, peaceful space. Bring your family to enjoy smores in the fire pit, grilling on the back deck, and lovely creek in the back yard. 10 minutes away, host a beautiful Smith Mountain Lake with plenty of activities. Boat rentals, put put, arcade, and great restaurants just down the road. There is plenty of room for parking for all who want to bring your own boat.

The Little Gallery House, near Natural Bridge, is part of an old Civilian Conservation Corps Camp, then juvenile detention center, now a campground and artist community, called Thunder BRidge. There are 100 acres to explore, bordering the Jefferson National Forest, with hiking trails and just 2 miles from the James River. This would be an ideal place for family to meet if some of you want to camp and others would like a real house. There is a queen bed and a day bed.
