With four fireplaces, fire pit, and hot tub, Poplar Peaks is perfect for a multi-family getaway or a relaxing escape for couples.

Idlewild Hill House

Enjoy breathtaking view from the hot tub or porch at this peaceful hilltop cabin only one mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. 3-story home with vaulted knotty-pine ceilings sleeps up to 9. (Accessibility is by stairs only, so not suitable for those with limited mobility.) Easy drive to West Jefferson, Boone, Blowing Rock. Lots of local hikes, biking; close to the New River. Note: the driveway is steep, so if you have a trailer or other large vehicle, contact the owner in advance for guidance.

The Cottage at Historic Sutherland Manor est. 1807

Helene update: the farm is undamaged and roads leading to it are passable. This farm cottage is located on a historic 40 acre farmstead behind a beautiful farmhouse (which is under renovation) with views of The Peak, Ashe County’s highest mountain. We are bordering Elk Knob State Park and a 10 minute drive to the park entrance. The farm is located in the historic Sutherland valley district and was built in 1807 by Thomas Sutherland.

Mike's Mountain House

The house is gated and overlooks the mountains and the New River. Have a drink in the hot tub or around the fire pit and watch the sunsets. Early morning you may catch some Deer or even a Bobcat walking down the road! Must be at least 21 years old to rent this home. 15 Min to downtown West Jefferson and 10 min to Blue Ridge Parkway then another 10 min to waterfall! Also 15 min drive to Mt. Jefferson with some great views and hiking.
