힌두교 신화에 따르면, 브라마 경 (신들의 삼심 속 크리에이터) 은 야냐 (신성한 의식) 를 수행하고자 했습니다. 가장 경이로운 장소를 결정하기 위해, 백조가 연꽃을 부어오른 채 공중에 풀어졌습니다. 새들이 푸쉬카르에서 꽃을 떨어뜨렸고, 브라마는 카르틱 퍼르니마의 푸쉬카르 호수에서 야냐를 연주했습니다 (11월 보름달). 그래서 이곳은 신성한 장소로 만들었습니다.
