Country stay with mountain views

Welcome to Amherst County! Our home is a contemporary that sits on over 100 acres. Beautiful mountain views, large fields for hiking and creeks to explore! Secluded yet convenient. We are situated about 2 miles from the Town of Amherst, 10 min. to Sweet Briar College, 21 min. to Liberty University, 25 min. to University of Lynchburg. Convenient to Lynchburg, Lexington, & Wintergreen. There are wineries and breweries nearby. Close to the Blue Ridge Mountains & Parkway, Panther & Crabtree Falls.

Secluded cabin close to VMI, W&L, and Lexington.

Our cabin was originally a grainery. We moved it to sit on a wooded knoll on our working sheep farm. Mornings can be spent relaxing on our front porch while watching lambs play. We offer a firepit and outdoor furniture to better enjoy the peaceful seclusion of our slice of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Guests are just 10 minutes to downtown Lexington, Virginia Military Institute, Washington & Lee University, Southern Virginia University & the Virginia Horse Center. The owner is a VMI alumnus.

The Farmhouse at Balcony Downs

This cozy farmhouse, built in the 1930s, is a hidden gem nestled at the foothills of the Blue Ridge on the historic Balcony Downs estate. With an abundance of outdoor activities on site and nearby, Balcony Downs is a wonderland for the adventurous. Due to the age of this cottage, it has some quirks that you should consider before booking: 1. The bathroom is on the 2nd floor. 2. The stairs are open and steep. 3. The shower is small and may be difficult for tall or larger individuals.

The Old Parsonage in The Blue Ridge

The Old Parsonage is the perfect place to spend your get-away days. you can even work from this "home away from home". We have installed high speed internet and TV, so you can stay Remote and Connected. Consider staying a week... or two! With spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in every direction, and a big country breakfast with fresh eggs from our free range chickens, you will feel right at home as soon as you arrive. Melt into the peace and beauty of Central Virginia.

Glamp in a yurt- camping but with style & comfort.

Escape to rural Virginia. Secluded yurt with private deck, composting toilet & driveway. Set in a beautiful, peaceful, environment. Hot showers & flush toilets are 215 steps away. Delightful large space with double bed, single sofa bed, storage space, table, and chairs. Outside picnic table & covered BBQ grill and hot plate attached with propane provided. Continental style breakfast provided. No electric power. Buddy heater for chilly days. Pet friendly. Dog's welcome (2 max)

The Cottage at Roaring Run Farm is a relaxing two bedroom retreat nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The farm sits on 153 acres of rolling pastures between neighboring cattle farms that make up a 1,000 acres of contiguous farmland. The cottage features beautiful views of the Peaks of Otter Mountains among fields of grazing horses and donkeys. Sunrise and sunset are truly magical hours on Roaring Run Farm.
