Camp Mawingu is located at a cool and pleasant altitude of 1,000 meters on the border of the Amani Nature Reserve. The rustic camp is the perfect base for exploring the unique flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest and tea plantations of the East Usambara Mountains. The rainforest of East Usambaras has been compared to the Galapagos Islands with regards to endemic species and are among the most important for biodiversity conservation in Africa.
